2nd Term Part 5: Big Brotha

Since you seem to be the house expert on stereotypes, why not enlighten us about: watermelon, fried chicken, natural rhythm, multiple b*stard children, living on welfare, shooting each other in the streets and large genitalia?

Well, why do that when we can get Archie Bunker to do it for us?

"Shocked. Shocked" that you missed the point. You and the rest of the ladies in the chorale deal out stereotypes like Chick-fil-A coupons at the mall on Saturday. Somehow, the stereotypes you excrete are "accurate." Or amusing. Other stereotypes are "evil." You guys are Archie Bunker, only you're too full of yourselves to see it.

1- I love how you lump me in with the stereotyping. I don't even remember the last time I made a crack about republicans being all old, white and rich, much less could you.

2- Naturally, you just had no other choice but to respond to old white cracks with
natural rhythm, multiple b*stard children, living on welfare, shooting each other in the streets
. You had no choice! We shouldn't be paging Dr. Freud at all! How else are you supposed to take him down a peg for stereotyping your precious GOP?

3- It's not like you should ever feel responsible for the words you write on here or anything. There's always a way to blame it on those libtards! It's always their fault! Just look at this shutdown! Easily avoided if the House Rs just got what they wanted all the time!

And your point? That you reject stereotyping? Really? You picked an interesting way of expressing it. Why don't you just admit that you and the other ladies think you're terribly clever with your stereotyping. But find nothing amusing about other stereotypes. Especially about your beloved lofo voters.

I'm responsible for every word I write here. And don't need to hide behind the skirts of hypocritical weenies who regularly engage in the same behavior they criticize in others. And I'm talking about you, bub.

"Essential" worker caught napping...

With no government shutdown end in sight, one Republican congressman showed some fatigue on the House floor in embarrassing fashion.

A live camera caught Rep. George Holding (R-N.C.) dozing Thursday night during a 45-minute speech by fellow Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas). The Hill notes the moment happened about 40 minutes into Gohmert's Obamacare address.

"It's about trying to do what's right for the whole country," Gohmert said, before the main camera shot turned to Holding sitting with his eyes closed and head resting on his hand.

In his defense, Gohmert was the one talking so I can't really blame him for sleeping through it.

Why are you interested in large genitalia?

Bone Man continues to bash his head into the wall.

WASHINGTON (AP) — House Speaker John Boehner is demanding that the White House and congressional Democrats negotiate with congressional Republicans about ways to re-open the government and address criticisms of the president's health care law.

Boehner told reporters Friday, "this isn't some **** game." He said House Republicans still want "fairness to the American people" under the program critics call "Obamacare."

President Barack Obama has refused GOP calls to delay a major element of the health law enacted in 2010.

House Republican Whip Kevin McCarthy said that Obama's decision to cancel an Asia trip offers the "perfect opportunity to begin negotiations."

Democrats say they will negotiate budget matters with Republicans but they will not alter the health care law that survived a Supreme Court challenge and Obama's 2012 re-election.

Interesting proposal:

http://blogs.rollcall.com/218/breaking-democrats-to-discharge-gop-bill-to-end-shutdown/?pos=ebn

I too thought the discharge position was a nonstarter given the 30 day wait period, but using an existing bill might get it done. This also has the added bonus of most likely saving The Boner's job, which he clearly values over the good of the country. He can legitimately denounce the move, while having no way to stop it if 17 Republicans sign on.

Re: 2nd Term Part 5: Big Brotha

The National Weather Service in Alaska issued this bulletin.

PRESSURES AT THE CENTER OF THE WESTERN GULF SURFACE
LOW CONTINUE TO RISE AS DYNAMIC SUPPORT HAS ONCE AGAIN RUN OUT. THE UPPER TROUGH MOVES SLOWLY
EASTWARD IN THE GULF WITH THE REMAINING SURFACE LOW TRANSITIONING INTO
A BROAD COMPLEX CENTER UNDER THE UPPER LOW. WIND
SPEEDS IN THE JET STREAK DOWNSTREAM OF THE LONG-WAVE APPROACH 140 KT.
ENTERING THE BACKSIDE OF THE TROUGH...A WEAKER JET STREAK CONTINUES DRIVING AN OVERALL
PROGRESSIVE PATTERN. RAIN SHOWERS PERSIST IN THE GULF...
ALTHOUGH THE FRONT IS RAPIDLY WEAKENING EARLY THIS MORNING.
YESTERDAY'S COASTAL JET HAS WOUND DOWN WITH THE ENERGY SHIFTING
UNDERNEATH THE BACKSIDE JET BEHIND THE LOW BRINGING THE STRONGEST
SUSTAINED WINDS FROM BRISTOL BAY THROUGH THE SOUTHERN GULF.

A man has just doused himself in gasoline and lit himself on fire on the National Mall.

Saigon - mid 1960's. Buddhist monks did it semi regularly, with 100% fatal results. Hope this guy recovers, though I would imagine he has severe lung damage.

Who will be the first pinhead who attempts to connect this sad event with the federal "shutdown?" Yesterday's media winner for connecting the crazy lady to the "shutdown" was Wolf Blitzer.

No, actually Tim Griffin, the Congressman from Arkansas was the winner.

Tone. Deaf.
During an interview, Fox Business host Stuart Varney was asked about the government shutdown and its effect on workers and the economy.

One of the hosts asked Varney, “Do you think that federal workers, when this ends, are deserving of their back pay or not?”

"No, I don’t think they should get their back pay, frankly, I really don’t. I’m sick and tired of a massive, bloated federal bureaucracy living on our backs, and taking money out of us, a lot more money than most of us earn in the private sector, then getting a furlough, and then getting their money back at the end of it. Sorry, I’m not for that. I want to punish these people. Sorry to say that, but that’s what I want to do.”

Co-host Amy Jacobson said, “But it’s not their fault. It’s not the federal employees’ fault. I mean, that’s what I’m sick of, I hate and it makes me anxious, to see people who are victimized because of a political fight.”

Varney responded, “I take your point Amy, it is not directly their fault, but I’m looking at the big picture here. I’m getting screwed. Here I am, a private citizen, paying an inordinate amount of money in tax. I’ve got a slow economy because it’s all government, all the time. And these people are living on our backs, regulating us, telling us what to do, taxing us, taking our money, and living large. This is my chance to say “hey, I’m fed up with this and I don’t miss you when you’re on furlough.” Sorry if that’s a harsh tone, but that’s the way I feel.”
