Yeah, Obama is huge govt. compared to Bush.

Bush NCLB, and Medicare Prescription D, and started two major wars, Patriot Act. Dept. Of Homeland Security. None paid for.

Obama, Affordable Care Act - Paid for.

Which is the big govt guy again????????????????????????????

There was also a LOT of stimulus spending and I don't think it could really be argued that we're in good shape overall as far as the deficit goes.

For what it's worth.

NBC is saying it was apparently a woman who tried to crash a checkpoint at the White House with her car, then drove down to the Capitol building, got out and shot a weapon at officers.

They showed one officer being medivac'd via chopper to a hospital.

Yay for gender equity in crazy people?

Either Rep. Tim Griffin (R-Arkansas) had a scheduled tweet come out at the worst possible time or the House Republicans are getting really desperate to blame the Democrats for every last thing they can think of.

Even if that is a scheduled tweet: The blame for this situation falls squarely on the shoulders of the House majority (as I've gone on about several times in this thread) and I'm just dying to hear someone try to reason out an argument that states otherwise.

Think of who makes up your typical Republican, both as a voter and as a politician. Its an older, bitter, 60+ something year old white male angry that the world has passed him by, and looking to "even the score" however he can. Some knuckledragger Congressman from Indy alluded to this, saying they won't be "disrespected" and will exact something out of this, he just doesn't know what. Really, doesn't that sound like most conservatives, even the ones on this message board?

Obviously the debate over Obamacare is over. Its already up and running. Reflecting this, Boner and the Teabaggers keep changing their demands hoping anything will stick, while pulling stunts at the WWII memorial and being photographed by an empty table. Its all stupid, but when your reason to exist goes from wanting to accomplish something to wanting to get even with somebody for some unknown slight, logic goes out the window. The Boner should have put an end to this months ago, but didn't have the nuts. How long must the country be held hostage by people of borderline sanity but uncontrolled rage? We'll find that answer out when the House finally capitulates in spectacular and brutal fashion.

Obviously the debate isn't over. So what if it's up and running? If you can call it "running" right now. That has never stopped the government before so why would it this time? Good example is the 2000 election. That was over but that didn't stop lefties from complaining and doing everything they could to reverse the results. It cuts both ways.

I don't think so. No Lefty shutdown the government to reverse the results of an election/bill. Ever.

Don't look at the specifics, just talking generalities. So explain what that parade of representatives was doing but couldn't get a senator to sign off after the election. I'm no govt expert but if Michael Moore had something about it in his movie it has to be serious, right?

She defeated a seven term incumbent by .8% in 2010, then was gerrymandered into a safer district and won her last election by 15 points.

Oh, and her husband is a surgeon, known universally as the poorest of the poor, so it makes sense that she needs her paycheck.

Just found out my Mrs. will get laid off next Friday unless they pass something. Really stressing out.

Since you seem to be the house expert on stereotypes, why not enlighten us about: watermelon, fried chicken, natural rhythm, multiple b*stard children, living on welfare, shooting each other in the streets and large genitalia?
