Re: 2nd Term Part 5: Big Brotha

I can see weiners wife standing by her man once but twice going on many times, she must be really power hungry.

but then, he's obviously mentally ill to some degree. You could see her as being compassionate to hang around and help him through it.

I guess, whatever help he has gotten certainly hasn't worked

Re: 2nd Term Part 5: Big Brotha

Looks like Weiner's holding firm and not getting out of the race.

Good call on Fishy. For an "independent" he sure seems to troll a lot of right wing websites. :D I did have to laugh though as that article had no mention of.....Sanford, Ensign, Dejardines, Foley, Fossella, Vitter, Gingrich, Limbaugh, etc etc etc.

Regarding Weiner, the good voters of NYC need to do for him what he won't do himself, which is end his political career once and for all. As the guy has no shame, I fully expect him to try to stick it out...

Don't think blasting his wife is fair however. I asked my significant other after the Spitzer thing if she'd ever appear at a press conference like that as I was astounded that his wife did, but she brought up the point that when there's kids involved its a different story. I believe there's a very young child here and is she pregnant again? If so I'm not going to judge her on her decisions. She's not the problem here.

Re: 2nd Term Part 5: Big Brotha

John McCain still has a sense of humor.

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) says he’s got a stimulus package for the strippers of America.

The former Republican presidential nominee is one of several senators supporting the COINS Act to replace the dollar bill with a dollar coin. They argue that the the move would save billions in printing costs.

But Daniel Harris, the owner of Archibald’s Gentleman’s Club in Washington, D.C., told The Hill in 2011 that he couldn’t sign on to the plan because his dancers relied on paper dollars.

“You can’t put a coin in a garter belt,” Harris said. “I think it would be very awkward for everyone involved. How much more would a coin weigh than a dollar bill? It would be very hard.”

On Thursday, The Hill asked McCain to think of the strippers.

“Then I hope that they could obtain larger denominations,” the senator quipped. “Fives, tens, one hundreds!”

Re: 2nd Term Part 5: Big Brotha

The $1 coin replacing the bill wouldn't hurt the strippers at all. They already come with built-in coin slots.

Re: 2nd Term Part 5: Big Brotha

Remember Lance Rentzel? Cowboys WR, married to Joey by God Heatherton, who liked to wave Mr. One Eye at little girls. A quote was attributed to him that he would "stick it out in Dallas," at least through the "exhibition season."

I haven't heard Lance "drop your pants" Rentzel referred to in many, many years. I'm really showing my age by admitting I know who he is.

Remember the Monday Night Football broadcast where the name Fair Hooker was mentioned? Don Meredith said: "I've never met one."

I don't remember that specific quote but it sounds about right for Dandy Don. I remember Meredith, Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford in the booth together and they were always good for a good quote. Well, maybe not Gifford but you never knew what the other two would say. Things sure were different back then.

Another famous Dandyism: camera catches a shot of Otis Sistrunk, with steam literally coming off him, and a weird haircut. Don said: "There's Otis Sistrunk, from the University of Mars." It's hard to recall, back in the days with only 3 networks, what a huge BFD Monday Night Football was. All sorts of big deals "just showed up in the booth." By some strange coincidence, they usually had an upcoming movie or special on ABC. I mean, John Lennon once stopped by.

Cosell once accused Don Shula of "throwing a game" because very late in the 4th, with Miami leading the Steelers by 6 and putting the ball in play with their backs to the goal line, he had Marino roll into the end zone and take a safety. Free kicks can't be blocked. Pittsburgh was out of time outs. About a minute to play. And had to score a TD to win. But the self appointed football genius accused the guy who won more NFL games than anyone of "throwing the game.'' Look up arrogant putz in the dictionary, and Howard Cosell will be smiling back at you. Bad hairpiece and all.

I do remember that quote and I think Alex Karras said that one but you are right, MNF was huge back in the day.

Re: 2nd Term Part 5: Big Brotha

I may sound like an old-timer (only 33), but they never should've moved MNF off of ABC. Instead we get "Dancing with the (C-List) Stars."

Re: 2nd Term Part 5: Big Brotha

I remember the trio imho as a lad believing there were the gold-standard as well as hoping to hear Cosell reference the Vikings game from during his half-time montage and being ****ed when he didn't. It was an event whereas MNF now is often an afterthought unless FF is in play.

Re: 2nd Term Part 5: Big Brotha

Among the funnier blunders I've heard about from this administration: Barry hired a bunch of people to open up a telemarketing "call center" to try to recruit the people to join up with Obamacare. But when someone told him there was this new law requiring health insurance for full timers, he cut their hours so they are all part time jobs. The people running the Obamacare recruitment center don't get health insurance!! haha :D
My only question is whether this, too, is Bush's fault. I swear we'd all be in nirvana by now if it wasn't for GW Bush and his stupid Obamacare, spying programs, stimulus wasting, etc. etc. plus I'm pretty sure he shot Treyvon Martin.

No, it's all Clinton's fault.

Makes me want to watch "North Dallas Forty" for the first time in forever. :p

haha. You're still living in the 90's! Your Democrat Party overlords have already moved all the way on to the turn of the century.

Speaking of politicians that have trouble keeping their pants closed, we must have heard at least 17,000 times on here that it's only Republican politicians that are EVER involved in sex scandals. Ring any bells, anyone? Yet now if you look through the news there are at least two Democratics involved in sex scandals, and not a peep out of our formerly OUTRAGED!!!!!11! friends here on USCHO. Did you all suddenly quit reading the news now that the shoe's on the other foot??? :D:D:D

How long after GWB was selected in 2000 did we hear that everything that went wrong (from 9/11 to the lousy economy) was all Clinton's fault?

And I don't recall ever seeing that only Rethuglics have sex scandals. Usually it works out that Democrats have sex scandals with women and Rethuglics have sex scandals with other men - often Rethuglic men who have demagogued against homosexuality.
