Horsehockey. Would you hire somebody who has his pants halfway down his butt? Or someone who bathes once a week if they needed it or not?

if the answer is no, then you discriminate.
Some top computer programmers don't have a reputation for the best hygiene practices. If they can do the job why do I care what they look (or smell) like?

Re: 2nd Term Part 4: Donkeys, Elephants, and Porcupines

I've noticed this about self-righteous jackwagons that claim to have a moral superiority over everyone else: they get very itchy when it's suggested that they turn that spotlight on themselves. "It's everyone else that does that. I would NEVER." The thing is, they honestly believe it so there's really no point in correcting them unless you just feel like picking a fight.

Are you married?
Have you ever dumped someone? Then you've discriminated.

If we're going to adopt practices...we adopt them across the board. If we have specific suspicions...then we pursue them. Unlike overseas extremist countries, the US by and large does not practice discrimination.

I'll try to make this simple enough for you to comprehend, though I doubt it's possible. As a nation we have limited resources (I know the libs don't believe that but it's true). If we're going to look for terrorists with those resources, where should we do it? A mainstream Christian church or Synagogue, or a hard line Muslim masque known to have an extreme Imam?

Don't have alot of experience hiring people, do ya?.

The question wasn't whether I had a lot of experience hiring people, the question was would I hire the individuals in question. If a person can help me make money/make a better product/etc why the hell would I care about his grooming habits?

How do you define "mainstream"? How do you define "extreme"? Is there such a thing as a "mainstream" mosque or an "extreme" church?

They believe it. You just only notice it where it's convenient, such as when it comes to energy resources, such as fossil fuels.

I'll be interviewing next week. :p:D

This is the same idiot argument that's advanced by opponents of "stop, question & frisk" in NYC. It's racist because they're not stopping grandmothers in Scarsdale. Roughly 75% of the people murdered in NYC are minority. Amazingly, about 75% of the shooters are also minorities. It would seem to make sense to send the cops where the crime is. They're "profiling" all right. They're profiling criminals. And the people whose lives have been saved by this program are, "ta da" overwhelmingly minority.

Yes to both. Ever heard of WBC? Or that whack doodle church Mel Gibson's father belongs to? I should think a key distinction would be preaching death and violence to Americans. Anyone who does that should be very closely watched. Jew, gentile or Muslim. In the alternative, we could just wait around for the bombs to go off at the finish line.

Re: 2nd Term Part 4: Donkeys, Elephants, and Porcupines

Do you have to wear shades to protect your eyes from the glow of that halo? Everybody discriminates.
I wear shades because I thought I was light sensitive after the stroke, but I think you might be onto something. I'll ask my doctor if that's what could be causing it. Thanks!

Or we could devote those precious, limited resources to snooping on something besides houses of worship.

If would be terrorists were getting indoctrinated at Chuck E. Cheese, I'd say: let's go get some pizza. But they're not.

Considering the damage the Christian Tea Party has caused the country with the school shootings, the blatant hate speech and acts of violence directed at Muslims, and the like, a better question would be if there's such thing as a "mainstream" church.

I suppose in your world employees don't interact with customers, I don't live in that world
