2nd Term - Part 3 - Echo Chambers, Chorales, and Wingnuts, Oh My!

Re: 2nd Term - Part 3 - Echo Chambers, Chorales, and Wingnuts, Oh My!

This may sound cold but from 1/1 to 3/31 there were 10 homicides in Boston. What makes those lives less important than the 3 murdered on Monday?

Killing kids with a machine gun in a school setting is really no better, morally, then allowing legal abortions.

You are normally one of the more agreeable righties, and then you go and jump straight off the deep end with this generalization.

I know. Can you imagine someone being opposed to killing kids that are under some age limit where it becomes OK? How bizarre.

Completely different circumstances, and I think you know it. That's all I'm going to say on this.

In an article in NROnline today, Victor Davis Hanson mentioned that there were 500 murders in Chicago last year. And mayor Rahm declared it was Chick-fil-a that didn't represent "Chicago values."

I understand: "a fetus isn't a human, so it's not murder." I really do understand. What I haven't been able to do is generate understanding that someone could hold the opposite view (that an unborn baby is human) and still be worth respect as a person. All I get is hatred and condemnation, which leads me to think that our society is suffering from a very sick conscience. Nothing else generates as much horror and loathing as admitting to being personally opposed to abortions on moral grounds. Watch the reaction we get: pure hatred.
I love you all. But I also love the kids. I wish we could have respect for them as being real people.

Is anyone else surprised that no politicians have called for background checks before an individual can purchase a pressure cooker? It only makes sense to me based on the current climate in this country, or don't we blame bombs like we blame guns?

Earth to Planet Tinfoil. Earth to Planet Tinfoil. Come in please.

Only morons say nucular. And for a guy trained in nuclear physics, I'm greatly disappointed that he says nucular.
They are from the South. I hear they have a particular dialect there.

Re: 2nd Term - Part 3 - Echo Chambers, Chorales, and Wingnuts, Oh My!

No, you don't, that's why you decided to phrase it like that.
I admit I was being provocative in my phrasing (i.e. trolling). But it was for a good cause.
Only up until the time they're born of course.
I'm not clear on your intent, but you may have misunderstood. When I said abortion was the moral equivalent of killing them after they're born, I didn't mean that I approve of one or both. I strongly disapprove of killing the kids at any age. The thing about machine guns was me being provocative, not a statement of support for terrorism.
That explains that...
Kepler? That you? Or is there someone else that's just as bigoted as our bigot emeritus? FYI, being from the southern states is not an indicator of intelligence (lack of it). (They just sound that way when they talk, but spend some time getting to know a few of them.):p

Yes, our society has a very sick conscience, on this subject and a good number of others. And people don't like being reminded of something like this. If they never hear about it it's easier to just sweep it under the rug and ignore it. So, anybody raising this issue is going to get blasted. That's just the sick state of our society. The trial of the mass murderer abortionist in Philly and the lack of coverage is another prime example.

Yeah, the media's been covering nothing but fluff this week.

By way of conservative values save the fetus, but once it's out eff 'em.

Probably also says "nucular"

In another context the late Dennis Wolfberg talked about the success of that "statewide IQ reduction program."

Monomaniacs of almost any variety are a huge bore.

On the other hand, you have to dig pretty deep in the compost heap to come up with an Arkansas state representative. Shouldn't there be a minimal requirement here, like jacks or better?
