unofan is correct. the idea of "just go use another business" basically gives a free pass to discrimination. Odd beliefs that Flag has. While in a perfect world the offending business would suffer, we don't live in a perfect world. If you live in a more rural area and there's only a couple of bakeshops who both have similar feelings on the issue, what should you do? Similarly if they both decide to not serve blacks, what's the alternative? Wait for a store to open up that does want to serve you?

Go to the next town.

I will admit to being torn on this issue. I don't like the idea of legislating thoughts and opinions or prosecuting those thoughts (I think "hate crime" enhancements in a criminal prosecution are ridiculous). However, I do think it's wrong to discriminate based on things like skin color or sexuality.

You can't have your cake and eat it, too. This is why Americans need to be proactive in putting themselves into a happy situation. Unfortunately, this country is filled with nothing but complainers, whiners, and finger pointers. If liberty is what the country truly desires, then it must also be understood that liberty goes two ways.

Re: 2nd Term - Part 3 - Echo Chambers, Chorales, and Wingnuts, Oh My!

So its your problem, not the people actually doing the discriminating? That's not the law Flag, and thank God for that.

FD is apparently still upset with the decision of those no good libtard activist justices in Brown v. Board of Education.

If you want something, what do you do? Go find it. Not finding what you're looking for in one place? Try another. No wonder we have such a lazy society.

Follow your own advice and go move to somalia already, you lazy wimp. Its a libertarian's dream.

Want something and its not available anywhere: go find it.
Want something and its available but you can't get it because of discrimination: illegal.

Even you ought to be able to tell the difference. As PJ O'Rourke once said "Every time I think about voting Libertarian they come out with some idea like privatizing the sidewalks". Likewise, your take on this is re-affirming proof that Libertarian thought is for kooks with no grounding in the real world. From your comments out here, you would turn a blind eye to discrimination in apparently any form. That doesn't say a lot for you as a person, and no hiding behind an ideology is going to change that perception.

Better get used to it. It's becoming rampant in this country. People have found it's a pretty effective means to stifle speech/views they don't like.

Heck, it's in practice every day here!

I think most of us realize Flag is a troll...thanks. :)

Whether he is or isn't its still d@mn funny.

There's some people who are here just for amusement (mookster, geezer, etc) and some who really believe this s#!t (Old Pio, Bob Gray, Fishy, etc). Not sure about Flaggy yet or the newer posters (BigGopherGuy for example).

;)

Two things to always bear in mind (especially here): Forever Selma. And: Not all stereotypes are bad. Some are revealed truths.

Re: 2nd Term - Part 3 - Echo Chambers, Chorales, and Wingnuts, Oh My!

Yes it is, I was never a fan of hate crime legislation. A crime is a crime. I have never seen a murder or assault committed by someone who did not have hate in their heart.

The flaw in this in this is if you hate your wife in theory that limits your target to one person only. If you hate blacks or gays...
