2026 Winter Olympics: Thread Title Under Construction

IMHO, fans are allowed to complain about 3-3. Players and coaches are not. They all knew the rules when they agreed to participate. Both teams benefitted winning in OT before this game. Let alone, the odd of the game going into OT was VERY high. If they choose to ignore that, suck it up, buttercup- you agreed to the rule set. Can’t pretend you didnt know.

We will ignore that Canada had a decided advantage in skill for 3-3 let alone the best player on the planet had the puck and decided to take the game into his own hands instead of controlling the puck with 2 of the other best players on the planet. All of which failed to be the best when it really mattered. Bitch all you want Canada, you had this game to win so very many times and didn’t.
I seemingly don’t remember very many Americans bitching about 4x4 OT back in 2010.

Women’s team has already declined their invite.
I'm glad they have but I'm kinda disappointed in their statement. I want to know if someone reached out to the them to officially invite them or they took that joke comment from Trump as the invite. Either way, their official statement said "They were honored to be included and are grateful for the acknowledgment," the spokesperson added. Was that just lip service and figuring it would be easier to say something like that?

From what I see they are responding to the invitation to the State of Union address. I wonder if the men will show up. I don't think an invitation for a general sports team won event at the White House.

Personally I hope the Democrats don't even show up. All of them. And the whole stupid thing dies cause it is a dumb meaningless speech.

As always, Dumpy has to make everything about himself and these idiots fall right into the trap.

Wonder how upset Curl and Coyne are that they don’t get to go?

Who gives a shiit

It is good to see there are still apologists for the crook, con man, rapist, and pedophile still here. I thought that horse paste might have killed them all.
Speaking of horse paste, what booster are you on? Still masking, double maybe?

Keep worshipping the State, vote hard, lmfao. You just need the right crooks in there that you approve of to make it work. Statism is a disease.

I feel like a lot of these liberal political and women’s sports websites that are (rightfully) going after the men’s team while heaping praise on the women’s team, and using some really broad “all men” brushes while doing it, are in for a big letdown the minute they start digging into the women’s players.

Granted, they won’t because they don’t actually give a shit about hockey, even women’s hockey.

I fully expect all of them to attend whatever WH ceremony they're invited to.
Gonna be really awkward for guys like Hellebuyck or Sanderson to explain to their Canadian teams why they were late getting back.

Granted, it’s going to be difficult for the teams to actually punish the players for going. There’s already precedent from 1998 and 2006 where the Czech and Swedish players went back home for public celebrations before returning to their teams.
