2026 Winter Olympics: Thread Title Under Construction

I saw Cooper's quote about the 3 on 3. That drives me nuts. I'm not a fan of it either but those are the rules of the game. If you don't like it, either work to get it changed or do everything you can to avoid having to play in it. It's not like they didn't have multiple opportunities to win, including a 5 on 3.
literally seeing them saying that its ok t hey won 4x4 in 2010 because that's closer to 5x5 than 3x3

The third period was just amazing hockey, all around. As OT was about to start, I was secretly hoping that both countries would just send out 5 skaters and tell the refs, “F off, we have a hockey game to finish.”

3x3 is just so deliberate (slow), with both teams circling back into their own zones multiple times even within the 2 minutes that it lasted. There’s no energy, no build up. 3x3 just sucks all the life out of the game.

Speaking as the resident Piss in America's Cheerios keyboard warrior, I loved the US win and it's not tarnished at all by the GOP fucktard presence.

Watching on CBC helped a lot since the gag reflex for network knobslobbery put the ten ton weight against Canada for once. I'm sure had I watched on Peacock I'd have been balls out against the US.

3x3 sucks, but watching McDavid play it almost redeems it. There was nobody else on the ice playing hockey when he had the puck -- it was just him and 5 pylons.

The winning goal was excellent.

Now we can stop bloviating about 1980. Maybe 9/11 will be next.
I only need 10 seconds of seeing Canadians online bitching about 3x3 to not feel bad about this win.

The guys on the US team make it difficult to take joy in the win.

Canadians make it real easy by opening their mouths.

IMHO, fans are allowed to complain about 3-3. Players and coaches are not. They all knew the rules when they agreed to participate. Both teams benefitted winning in OT before this game. Let alone, the odd of the game going into OT was VERY high. If they choose to ignore that, suck it up, buttercup- you agreed to the rule set. Can’t pretend you didnt know.

We will ignore that Canada had a decided advantage in skill for 3-3 let alone the best player on the planet had the puck and decided to take the game into his own hands instead of controlling the puck with 2 of the other best players on the planet. All of which failed to be the best when it really mattered. Bitch all you want Canada, you had this game to win so very many times and didn’t.
