2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

Until i see something about this on a non-social media site, I'm skeptical that it's real. Everything appears to link back to either Twitter or Instagram.

It's allegedly from an event on 9/10 in the Quad Cities. Not saying it couldn't be real, but I would think a week out it would've hit the local fishwraps by now if it were.

Per Gemini, it is fake:

The viral social media claim and image placing Adolf Hitler in the background of an event with U.S. Representative Ashley Hinson is not real.
  • The Rumor: Social media posts circulated a claim that a gathering for Republican candidate Ashley Hinson featured footage or images of Hitler playing on a screen in the background.
  • The Reality: The underlying visual elements or claims playing on a raised-fist or historical composite meme trace back to manipulated internet imagery. Independent digital context and standard tracking of these viral political posts show the association is a manufactured online smear rather than a real event occurrence.

Apparently Susan Collins had an Ad on TV this morning that directs people scan a QR code which goes to Elon Musks data gathering website. I doubt Collins paid for the AD but she was in it so... I guess she can claim she didn't know but Elon has bought and paid for her(if there was any doubt before this)

Republican incumbent in R+15 FL seat criticizes Dump over immigration after poll shows her tied.

You don’t have to be a political expert to know that if she is calling out Trump in a seat he won by double digits, Republicans are terrified of losing their House seats.

Indeed, in just the past week, Democrats have seen their lead on the generic congressional ballot jump more than 2 points, according to RealClearPolitics’ polling average. That’s a massive leap in such a short amount of time. Democrats are now ahead on the generic ballot by a whopping 8.7 points. That’s more than the 8.3-point lead Democrats had on this day in the 2018 cycle.

Democrats are being boosted by Hispanic voters, who appear to be swinging back toward Team Blue after drifting right in previous elections.

A Cook Political Report poll of Hispanic voters in Texas released last week, for example, found that Trump’s approval with the voting bloc has cratered. Just 33% of Hispanic likely voters in Texas approve of the job Trump is doing in office. The poll found that among Texas Hispanics, Democrats lead on the generic ballot by a whopping 14 points—a number that could cost seats they had gerrymandered last year to try to draw their way to a House majority.

As for Salazar, both Cook and the nonpartisan handicapping outlet Inside Elections rate the race a “Likely Republican” contest.

But a poll released earlier this week found Salazar tied with her Democratic opponent, former television news anchor Eliott Rodriguez. And Salazar’s new ad tells us that those numbers may indeed be right. Salazar is clearly sweating.

If a Republican candidate in a Trump+15 seat feels she needs to distance herself from her party’s leader, November is going to be an absolute bloodbath for the GOP.

The weasels are in a panic.

I have ad suppression up so high and I have restricted my media consumption so much I have not seen a single political ad yet. Not for primaries or general.

Except the placards and yard signs IRL.

Let's check in on the John James campaign for MI gov, where leaked audio from a July campaign rally has him telling a disappointed constituent that he didn't really mean it when he said the 2022 vote on Prop 3 had settled the abortion question in Michigan. That tracks, since during his time as a Representative, he's consistently voted for every extreme anti-choice bill they've tried to pass at the federal level.

So if you're an uneducated control freak and/or a self-hating woman, it's going terrific!
