2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

JD Vance takes aim at Abdul El Sayed with some nonsensical and racist "Sharia Law" smear (when has AES ever said anything about imposing Sharia Law?) and tells a protester with a Mexican flag to "get his ass home".

I see no comment from the usual suspect(s) who are squeaky about "extremism" on the left.
Have any of the republicans been asked to distance themselves from the convention attendee that called for AES and Talarico’s murders?

Nah, that's just some good ol' locker room talk among boys. It sure isn't like any of that socialist Medicare for all talk that the far left spouts off that's going to murder thousands of people.

Actually, I agree that his qualification of "if it endangers safety or fareness," is actually a great way to handle it.

The problem is there are more people in this forum who argue with you daily than there are trangendered athletes playing NCAA sports, and that this is such a sticking point for people is frustrating.

Tough question: which are there fewest real examples of?

a) transgender athletes in women's sports
b) undocumented aliens voting
c) terrorist sleeper agents who snuck across the Mexican border
d) Democrats who want to steal your guns
e) public schools surreptitiously providing gender-affirming care without parental consent
f) members of the Guardians from Rise of the Guardians

That tracks.

A pastor kicked off a recent campaign stop for Michael Whatley, the Republican nominee for Senate, with a prayer that asked God to bestow “integrity and honesty” upon the event and to right wrongs “hammered down on the conservative movement.”

The prayer was hardly unusual by North Carolina political standards. What was surprising was the man who delivered it. Pastor Daimon L. King is a registered sex offender, twice sentenced to prison for convictions involving children, according to state and court records.

The episode occurred with two months to go in a marquee Senate race that could help decide which party controls the chamber after the November elections. It risks undermining one of Whatley’s central campaign arguments — that his Democratic opponent, former Gov. Roy Cooper, is soft on crime. And it could feed into an advertising blitz by Democrats that has targeted the Republican candidate’s association with another convicted sex offender, a former GOP official.

Dude - he is in Texas. Do you want Paxton to win?

And - "if it endangers safety or fairness" - should be a pretty uncontroversial statement, no?

Agree with your first sentence. Whatever it takes to win. Talarico >>>> any Republican, especially in a red state like Texas..

My further prediction? 2030 - Dems will take the wrong message from success in 2026 and 2028, move to far left and then the Republicans will take back the house in 2030.

Republicans would take back the House in 2030 regardless of what Democrats do or don’t do while in power. The same American people voted Trump back into office for fuck’s sake. I’m not concerned if they think Democrats “went too far”- they don’t even know when Democratic policies are helping them. The vast majority of voters are ignorant, fickle, and impatient, and don’t pay 10% as much attention as any of us.

Democrats should always go fucking huge on everything when they’re in power, because it takes so much longer to build programs and build infrastructure and build better healthcare than it is to destroy, destroy, destroy. If the American people paid attention like us, getting information from actual news sources, without the culture war bullshit smoke screen (including trans athletes) I think it’d be 80-20 D in the Senate, 400-35 D in the House. Maybe worse.
