Just a different incarnation of the usual cannon-fodder. IMO.

The MASAC hasn't advanced past the 1st round in forever, if memory serves, yet, every year, there it is, taking a berth away from a much better team.

So why is it granted an AQ, yet again? Oh yeah, "tradition"...

Makes about as much sense as having that clueless asshole Musk running our country.

Fish, not to alarm you or anything.....but Utica beat Plymouth State in the National Quarterfinals last year after they beat Cortland in the 1st round

Aside from a shocking 1v8 upset, we go chalk down the line to put Anna Maria in line for their first NCAA tournament berth in their first full season

Where does Anna Maria play their home games? Seems interesting that they are playing this game on Sunday...

You know Fish you never give up on this. Last Fall in D1 Men's soccer all the majors fans wanted to know why the America East deserved an auto bid to the Tournament. 2024-25 Men's D1 Soccer National Champion was Unversity of Vermont ! America East ! But would not have even been there if people with your thinking had it their way.

Superior holds serve, and Eau-Claire upset Stevens Point in Game 1 of their WIAC semifinals. We run it back tomorrow

WIAC

Semifinals (2/28-3/1, two-game series w/ mini-game if necessary):

Game 1:
#4 River Falls - 1 @ #1 Superior - 4
#3 Eau-Claire - 4
@ #2 Stevens Point - 3

Championship (3/8):
Lowest Seeded Semi Winner @ Highest Seeded Semi Winner, TBD

It seems like Stevens Point moved up in the NPI to #9 despite the loss? I could have sworn they were around #12 before.

according to D3hn, they were at 9 heading into the weekend, but it doesn’t look like they are updating NPI at the moment. Based on this passage, from that link, it looks like Point needs the autobid to get in (if they get by Eau Claire)

“If the Pointers want a chance at an at-large, they absolutely need both of these wins, given UWEC’s relatively low NPI.

Then, if they do lose a potential title game, it would have to be an away game at Superior, rather than a home game against River Falls. Even if UWSP beats UWEC twice, and then falls to Superior, they probably need some chaos. They most likely need UNE and/or Trine to go down this weekend, and even then, I’m not sure if it would be enough. Winning the WIAC is the safe route.”

Did Vermont even score a goal in regulation? Maybe one or two.

...Which would have made a more sense.

Anything can happen in a bullshit one-off tournament. Does the regular season - with its much greater depth of data to process- mean nothing to you?

So, let's just condense the entire season down to a few games, no matter how the previous 20 games or so resulted.

Asinine.

Holy shit!

Now that conference's AQ's are something like 1-27 in the recent past. But they downed mighty Cortland!

"Outstanding!", to quote Robert Duval.

Why not just crown Curry for being #1 in the NPI at the end of the regular season?

Aurora and Trine both go down. That will shake things up. UNE is in a tough position. Trinity is done, Cortland is done.

.
And it won't matter.

Hell, PSU was 19th in the rankings anyway.

MCLA, whoever that is, will almost certainly just waste some space, going forward.

After 130 minutes of hockey, UWEC defeats Point on a penalty shot (right call - and I actually think EC probably scored on the play that led to it) to advance to face River Falls in the WIAC final.
