2024 NCAA Tournament

Hopefully you had safe travels Hockeybuckeye. I'll look for you and PGB in the OSU contingent. I'll probably be wearing my Bruins sweatshirt with the big spoked B at the Patty Kaz ceremony.

I'll have a black OSU jersey at the games and maybe my Muzzinator tee shirt. I plan to wear my OSU Hockey polo at the Patty Kaz.

I'll be there : ) I'll probably be in my teal PWHL New York home jersey tomorrow and at the Patty Kaz ceremony; not sure what I'll be wearing on Sunday. Safe travels!

Here is the list of finalists for the Coach of the Year award (the conference coaches of the year plus all coaches whose teams made the Frozen Four) -
(* Past Winners of the Division I Coach of the Year Award)
Matt Desrosiers, Clarkson
Greg Fargo, Colgate*
Mark Johnson, Wisconsin*
Jeff Kampersal, Penn State
Chris MacKenzie, UConn
Nadine Muzerall, Ohio State
Kelly Nash, LIU
Out of the Frozen Four teams, Clarkson was picked lowest in the USCHO preseason poll, at 9 (Wisconsin 1, Ohio State 2, and Colgate 4). So, they've probably surprised the most. Cornell also finished at 6 after being picked at 10, and UConn finished at ~10 after just receiving votes.

I didn't realize Muzerall had never won this; last WCHA coach to win was Crowell in 2017.

Congrats, HCA Goaltender of the Year Michelle Pasiechnyk and HCA Julie Chu Rookie of the Year Joy Dunne, along with National Coach of the Year Chris MacKenzie!

Todays the day!

Buckeyes Knights at 4

Badgers Raiders at 7:30.

I assume streaming on ESPN+ but the CHN app doesn’t say.

Muzerall pointed out this is a repeat of the Frozen Four in 2018.

In the Wisconsin press conference it was pointed out that the Badgers talk about playing “free” and a bit of dialogue on what that meant. Interesting! I thought Gate had that saying on lockdown. Tonight will be a clash of players playing free.

Heres hoping the uscho site is prepared and ready for the moment and playing free today. If not…see you on the other side.

Interesting to see Hailey Salvian is there and covering the sport. A big deal that the work by small enterprise or local reporters for decades has helped carry women’s hockey to today. Our niche of a niche sport is getting national coverage. Yay!

I look forward to maybe meeting some of you at the Frozen Four between games! Anybody know a good place to meet up at the rink there? I will be around then.

That's exciting about Hailey Salvian doing coverage. Nicole Haase and Todd Milewski are putting out good stuff too. Will have to listen to the press conference.

The arena has an open concourse above the seating bowl, but there's no function space or area with chairs on that level.
I'm biased, but my suggestion would be to meet in front of the large UNH Women's Hockey 1998 National Champions photo on the right side concourse (near the men's restroom) ;-);)

Sounds good to me!

No pro gear allowed at college Frozen Four weekends!

Ha ha! Good point, I will support our college teams instead. My options for college jerseys are Denver, UNH, and Dartmouth. My brothers went to Denver and UNH, I went to Dartmouth. So change in plans, no B's jersey. I'll be sporting a Big Green jersey on Saturday at the Patty Kaz ceremony.

I'm working one of the penalty boxes for the 1st semi and the championship game so I'll be a bit busy on game days. No jersey attire.

Wow, how do you get a gig like that? Please have some "door opening" issues if you are running the tosu box.....Wink haha LOL.

Glad to see you came to your senses. :-) Our nephew went to Dartmouth, so good choice.

I don't know how Clarkson and Ohio State are tied 1-1, because Clarkson wasn't even in that first period...good lord. They look like they're happy to just play defense.

The Yuckeyes only scored 1 goal while putting up 24 shots on goal in the 1st period. Very fortunate for the fighting nurses to still be in this game tied at 1.

Maybe because they know that's the only way they can beat OSU? No way Clarkson beats OSU by getting into a track meet. Rope and dope is the only smart strategy.
