2024 NCAA Tournament

Simms gets away with shoving after the whistle, draws a penalty in the retaliation and then taunts Greig on Greig’s way to the box with no consequence. You just wonder what the refs are thinking.

Noting that while there are a number of current Badgers who were teammates with Greig, Simms is not one of them.

#4 for sinners is trying to do her best imitation of a tunneler defenseman and give the puck away multiple times. Toothpaste has not taken advantage so far of the gifts.

Before the season started, it looked like these were the two most talented teams. The best in the ECAC proved they were close, but couldn't quite close the gap.

I think Ohio State had more shots-on-goal in their first period than Colgate and Wisconsin combined for in their first two periods.

:-o

FYI: Replays of both semi games will be on ESPNU, starting *early* Sunday morning. Clarkson-Ohio State at 5:30 AM and Colgate-Wisconsin at 8 AM, CST.

What an awesome way to promote the crowning game of the women's collegiate hockey season! (insert heavy sarcasm emoji here)

I was really surprised that Colgate was that physical with Wisconsin. I had presumed that it would be the opposite. Too bad the power play was to inept to make them pay. Maybe they were trying to take a page out of the St Lawrence playbook. They also don't seem to be very strong on their skates when being harassed from behind, that was interesting as well, the last tripping call on Wheeler was interesting. I think they could have matched those two up there.

Early on when Colgate has penalty trouble I thought they had no chance. But this became a very winnable game, it just wasn’t their day I guess.

Watched the pressers for Wisco and OSU.

I love to hear what coaches have to say as well as these talented young people.

Johnson seemed agitated. I don’t watch a ton of his pressers but he’s usually a bit more chill it seems. Maybe they are either hyper focused on the task at hand, didn’t really like their offensive game or the reffing, or maybe just got Patty Kaz news they didn’t like?

He did have a funny line about KK being the happiest one in the building when Ava stopped the Colgate breakaway.

If Nicole reads this, a question: is the number of people covering the tournament significantly changed in anyway since you started covering?

You've piqued my curiosity. I have no doubt that MJ wasn't happy about penalties; what coach is? He did an interview with the badgers radio guy, recorded AFTER the end of the Ohio State-Clarkson game, and noted only one penalty in that game, how good Colgate was on special teams, and the need to stay out of the box, etc etc etc.

Where did you find the video?
