Threads is still miles better than Bluesky. I can't remember the last time I saw any MAGA-b.s. and so far there's so much more content.

No legit poll has it close. 538 has it Harris +5.9 on the average. Come on.

538 has that pollster as a replacement-level pollster in only three polls it was able to analyze. Hell, it’s possible the pollster had only conducted three polls up to that point. Poll is trash, and if Kamala is losing New Hampshire, she’s losing big.

If Bluesky was a bit more user friendly (and had as much goofy fun as Threads does) I would have used it more. Maybe after the election...

I mean, the UI is better than twitter's pre-Elon. The threading is better, the block is better, gifs, videos, DMs. All available within the last six months.

Tons of goofy fun if you cultivate your feed (meaning, follow people who do that, have a good mix though and use block liberally)

id recommend trying it again. There have been a bunch of people who have come over from threads and have good things to say.

I won't promise you'll like it, but it's where more and more people seem to be landing.

It isn’t terribly easy to be someone that isn’t for the complete destruction of Israel on Bluesky, so get thick skin or be ready to block quickly.

Waiting until after the election is smart.

Akiva Cohen does fine. But point taken. As long as you have an itchy block finger, it goes away quickly.

That is the one major downside to it. There does tend to be some obnoxious lefties on there. But I don't get much in the way of that with who I follow.

Personally, I think he has been for the entire time. Tesla doesn't sell that many cars, so how in the world is it so more valuable than any other auto company who do make in excess of 1M cars apiece. At some point, Wall St has to see what is going on, and tank him.

And that's before he alienated his "green" base for EVs by worshiping dumpy. When you see r's attack EVs in their ads, it's pretty clear he's given away his base consumer.

EV credits are the only reason they're as profitable as they are. They sell an assload of those for HUGE money.

There is very little MAGA on Bluesky. They get blocked almost immediately by enough people to basically give herd immunity.

remember, the block on Bluesky severs the entire interaction. It's like it never happened. It's total and complete. So you can't even see or search for the interaction because it's just... gone.

I just tried Bluesky for the first time in a long time and the first post I came across was this:

So we are going to a Harris-Waltz rally today. While AA is certainly a town where they are preaching to the choir, it's pretty cool they are coming here. I have a feeling some of that is because the Obamas like it here- they sent one of their daughters to Michigan, and President Obama spoke here a few times. But it also could be that some important proposals happened here, too- on the steps of the Michigan Union, Kennedy proposed the Peace Corps.

The rally is in the middle of a pretty affluent neighborhood which is reasonably close to campus. Should be fun.

I'll be wearing a "Rise Up" hat- which is from Lin-Manuel Miranda and kind of combines some Hamilton with the Puerto Rican flag- one of my favorite hats. https://www.teerico.com/products/hamilton-puerto-rico-rise-up-baseball-cap It's the most political thing I have to wear, which just got amplified thanks to the racists.

For the the moron and his worshipers, I'm sure it is. But it's very much back to when you visited there. Going again in Jan.

I'm quite sure that some of the back country dumpy country is in much worse shape than Puerto Rico is, economically. It's still hurting, but it's largely because of dumpy like worshipers that took advantage of their need for cash as they pulled their companies out off the island.

I've been going there since 1994 pretty regularly, and even though I have some great in-laws who are Borinquen, I really don't know what would be best for them. But I think being a state would help a lot, since the medicare-medicaide support would be up to normal US citizen levels. And that's one of the worst of the worst problems on the island. It's the #1 reason why we won't retire there.

It's still a great place to visit.

So watching this morning's TV, the political ads outnumber the normal ads by a HUGE margin. The TV channels who have "news" are making a TON of money putting these ads on their channels. Such a massive conflict of interest in terms of reporting political news.
