2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

The effects in NC are devastating enough I wonder if it could have an effect on the election. NC is gonna be tight and Asheville is a 100k city that is underwater.

It absolutely will. How many people are displaced? who knows when they'll actually be able to return and whether they'll be able to register to vote elsewhere or absentee.

Plus USPS has suspended delivery to a bevy of zip codes. So mail-in ballots are going to be a disaster.

This statement by Moody's chief analyst Mark Zandi needs to be featured in Dem ads alongside DonOLD's "economy's a disaster because I say so" bleats.
I’ve hesitated to say this at the risk of sounding hyperbolic, but with last week’s big GDP revisions, there is no denying it: This is among the best performing economies in my 35+ years as an economist. Economic growth is rip-roaring, with real GDP up 3% over the past year. Unemployment is low at near 4%, consistent with full employment. Inflation is fast closing in on Fed’s 2% target - grocery prices, rents and gas prices are flat to down over the past more than a year. Households’ financial obligations are light, and set to get lighter with the Fed cutting rates. House prices have never been higher, and most homeowners have more equity in their homes than ever. Corporate profits are robust, and the stock market is hitting a record high on a seemingly daily basis

Ted Cuz hit the panic button on Newsmax today as polls show him in a dead heat with Colin Allred. He complained 3 times about George Soros spending $100 million to beat him, Dem voters moving into the state, and Dems cheating by having migrants vote illegally. https://meidasnews.com/news/ted-cruz-hits-the-panic-button

I still think Ted wins...but he never worried this much when he ran previously. Maybe it really is close...

If she’s up by 21 points with women, it’s over. I mean, that’s a gargantuan gap with the largest voting bloc in every state.

Yeah I have seen that number...not sure I trust it anymore than some of the other numbers I see but with that said:

Yes if it is anywhere near that its over. His numbers with Men aren't comparable even in biased polling. And that will be a HUGE drag down ticket too as most GOPers are in the same boat as him.

Again if that number is close to true.

Speaking of numbers that we hope are true...I saw numbers that showed Tester in a dead heat and it sounds like the debate went alright. Sheehy being racist to Natives and the subsequent Native GOTV effort is probably helping.

Biden was doing well but not that well. I remember seeing some side by sides from that annoying dude on CNN and I want to say it was basically whatever Trump lead with in Men Biden lead with in women overall. Can't remember a state by state one offhand though.

Its funny because some of Trump's mouthpieces will talk about how he "doubled" his support in the Black Community...and yet the number is like she has 10+ times the support amongst likely Black Voters. (I have seen her in the upper 80s) Now women is trending that way as well.

Anyone know if JD will release his tax returns before the debate. He seemed to be all for it in 2022. Is that a flip-flop or a sell-out?

He will probably lie and say he already did :p

I won't watch...I will check out clips later. Having to watch Walz sift through 90 minutes of JD Vance lying because CBS can't be bothered to fact check means it is not a serious debate. They will use the BS ICE stats, lie about the economy, Walz's service record, How Biden isn't helping disaster relief...Walz won't even have time to actually answer a question.

With the longshoremen strike (their union being headed by a known Dump supporter) and Bibi doing Bibi things in Israel, it seems like we’re seeing the beginning of a rather large and obvious rat****ing.
