I guess the only difference is you're rewarding people for doing something you feel is positive rather than punishing people for doing something you think is negative, and it tells you something about their mindset where they prefer to punish rather than reward.
I mean, there's other things too. Paying for schools, city and state-funded community events for kids, etc.
we are paying a shit ton of extra for other people's kids already. Part of our insurance premiums pay for them. And that's good and fine. We should want this. Good schools are good for property values, help keep the economy going. Good medical care means we're healthier.
Childless adults are probably like the blue states when it comes to net taxes vs benefits.
