2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

I know some people thought walz added nothing, or at best did no harm.

I’ve been texted by friends in six different states, all asking me questions about him and what I thought. He’s definitely getting some people excited - sure it remains to be seen if that translates into actual voting

but I have a hard time seeing Pete or Josh and even mark relate this way. None Of them are very relatable to normal people and it seems like a lot of people feel seen by Timmy.

He is doing amazing. His personality is a perfect fit. He was the best choice.

Harris-Walz campaign needs to land an early and emphatic response to Trump-Vance and the MAGAts hanging the "radical leftist," "socialist" and "communist" labels on them, but never spelling out which policies apply.

Could it be these which polls have shown substantial majorities of Americans embrace?

-Common sense Gun Safety laws
-Addressing Climate Change/Renewables
-Restore Roe/Right to Choose
-Making the wealthy pay their fair share
-Support for Ukraine and opposition to Putin
-Protecting gay rights
-Parental leave
-Day care support
Guess that means the majority of Americans are radical leftists or worse.

Truman's words still apply: "Socialism is a scare word they have hurled at every advance the people have made in the last 20 years."

Yeah...Joe was too nice.

Especially because they met with these people beforehand and had a good dialogue. The campaign said they’re open to negotiation and keeping communication channels open. Then they pulled that. Congratulations, you played yourself. You aren’t getting a second of her time now.

Exactly. That death stare was the end of it.

Some Gaza protestors showed up in Detroit...Harris set them straight.

That was the second time she had to stop because of them. They aren't helping their cause they are making people sympathetic to the cause hate them.

Tlaib has to make a choice...and she has to do it now.

So Harris met with Layla elabed before the rally..who is Rashida’s sister? I had no idea.

clown behavior

"Walz appeals to white guys who hang an American flag. Vance appeals to white guys who hang a bunch of American flags.

"Walz appeals to the older white guy who always tells the same joke to the server at Denny's. Vance appeals to the older white guys who say thingslike,

'I'm not racist but..' and then say the most racist sh— you've ever heard."

"Walz appeals to white guys who call PBS to make a donation" and Vance appeals to white guys who call Fox News to say their gold coins haven't arrived in the mail."

- Josh Johnson, The Daily Show

I’m glad she let them go for a while before clapping back at them, and when she eventually did she gave them a choice. Embrace Trump or shut up.

Based on the pearl clutching from the Substack crowd, I'd say her actions and response to the subsequent disruptions will resonate just fine with anyone who doesn't fly the watermelon. The Uncommitted playpen doesn't want power or to effect change, they just want to loudly critique power and play victim.

I think Tlaib has already made her choice. She was defending Cori Bush and blaming AIPAC on her personal Xitter last night. No one challenged her in the primary this year, so she had no motivation to 'evolve' on the issue.
