Unfortunately, you hear this from a growingly vocal contingent within the left as well.

Most of those voices are frauds...they would never vote for Trump and they aren't breaking for RFK either. The only Lefties who I think wont vote Biden are ones who likely wouldn't anyways.

Part of it is that we are in the middle of a significant "generational" change (and yes, I know Kep hates that term). But we basically have a majority of the population that grew up with "technology" and they view those that didn't in a negative light.

Politics aside, this has significant implications as to how those in power are viewed.

The only issue the youth seem to have with Biden isn't his age, it is Gaza. But the youth break so wildly Democratic that I think that is vastly overblown. (and rather underrepresented in polling) Plus Joe's team kills it with social media.

Honestly, I think Biden's best move would be to lean into the age issue. It is one of the few things that you can't really hide. If the media is going to be hacky and lazy about age then the easy pivot is "Would you rather have your well meaning Grandpa in charge...or your crazy uncle who always ruins the Holidays" followed by every clip you can find of Trump sounding like he is sundowning. Hammer home all of the gaffs Trump makes daily AND also remind them he is on trial in 4 different cases one of which involves being a full on traitor.

It amazes me that most of the hub bub over his age and how the Dem should get rid of him comes from writers that are in no way Democrats or even really center/left they just work for mainstream outlets that stupid people think have a liberal bias. Douthat is a friggin Republican as are most of the clowns making headlines about this crap. In fact I read an analysis...just in 3 publications (WSJ, WaPo and NYTimes) in the 4 day period after the Hur idiocy they printed 81 stories that mention Biden's age. The same analysis didn't have a number but said mentions of Trump's mental cognitive decline were mentioned significantly less. And if you look at who is authoring these articles...they aren't voices of the left in any way.

The media is cooking the books...they want this. Any other year, with the win streak the Dems are on (overperforming in every election including crushing almost all special elections not to mention Abortion Rights pimpslapping the GOP on ballots even in Red States) along with Inflation continuing to fall (not Greedflation though some is being corrected) and everyone having jobs and avoiding a Recession and the expanding of Union rights and Infrastructure along with lower than expected Gas rates the media would be pumping up Biden and the Dems as having the most effective government and political machine since at least the 90s. Special elections and off year elections are usually seen as bellweathers...ways to extrapolate the way the country is feeling. The Dems are dominating this. Can't have that though so lets pivot away and pretend it doesn't matter because Biden got a name wrong. We saw this in the Midterms and in the off year election coverage when they would find excuses to stop making things sound like good news and immediately switch to how it proves Biden sucks cause he is OLD!1!11!1

Keep in mind younger Presidents than Biden have made much bigger gaffs that he has...BIDEN OLD!1!1!1!! is the only thing that moves the needle. The GOP killed their one real way to maybe get the Center on their side by botching the Immigration argument. Dana Bash said last night on CNN (hardly a friend to Biden since before the Midterms) that people she talked to in NY-3 said the reason they voted for Souzzi was because Trump and the GOP blew up the Immigration Bill. MSNBC was reporting people in NY-3 who had voted for Trump voted against the GOP candidate because of their Immigration policies. The GOP thinks they can speak out of both sides of their mouth and we won't know about it like it is 1980 or something. Well maybe their mouthbreathers can ignore it but 65% of the country knows how the game is being played and social media has the receipts. Even Faux is turning on some of them...in part because they (Faux) were deeply in bed with Kevin McCarthy.

I don't know how to tackle that, honestly. I hope Tlaib isn't behind that movement, but it seems like exactly the kind of "let's shoot ourselves in the foot because principles" thing she'd support. She's pretty entrenched, so a primary challenge isn't likely to be much of a threat. I think we just have to hope that a majority of the Muslims eligible to vote are smart enough to consider that handing the state to Dump could be a pyrrhic victory, and they vote accordingly.

Honestly the best move is not to do anything. The more they meet resistance the more they will fight back. Let them have their anger and spout their words and most likely by the end they will either make the correct choice or reap the world wind. I have a feeling that when push comes to shove Tlaib will endorse Biden which will render all of this moot we just need to not make things worse. I mean AOC is already out carrying water for Biden so I don't see the rest of The Squad going rogue.
