Honestly, if biden mints The Coin, I'm ready to call it case closed on the best president in 80 years. We can then start having serious discussions on best Potus of all time.

Yeah, I'm kinda with you. I voted for him (in MA, where it doesn't matter) as a check against Trump and with the fleeting hope that he'd roughly return the US to some kind of semblance of normalcy. And while I don't necessarily think he's been OMG TEH BEST!!!1! I am floored by what he's been able to accomplish with such an absurdly hostile opposing party. His list of accomplishments in the first 2 years are on par with 2-term presidents, in my opinion.

If he can find a way to eliminate the incorrectly-named debt ceiling, he'll be absolutely in the conversation of best Presidents in the last century.
 
It's disappointing though that none of what he is doing is "flashy" or "groundbreaking". Which is why he's struggling to gain traction within the general population. He's gonna be seen as a do-nothing President who did everything.

ARA, infrastructure bill, CHIPS, something approaching gun control (I'm undoubtedly forgetting others)... What even counts as "flashy"?


Not being a jerk here. Because I'm with you, he's the Romney/Charlie Baker/Tim Kane type of "boring but very effective"... which I'd take 1000 out of 1000 times over Trumps nonstop insanity.
 
Flashy is something that gets the attention of EVERYONE, not just people who follow politics with a somewhat in-depth knowledge.

Roe v Wade being overturned was "Flashy" in this respect. Biden doesn't have a headline along those lines to his name.

He has been more effective than Obama in dealing with the terrorists. They are both going to go down as heroes who held the line against the Nazis. HODOR!

By history, I don't think so. Just as people rediscover how effective "quiet" presidents were with the passing of years, he will remembered as working behind the scenes for good. When Ike was in office he was reviled by many as do nothing, but a lot of scholars now consider him the second most effective president of the century after FDR.

By the current electorate, it doesn't matter. People aren't voting on getting something done, they are voting on protecting themselves from the knife-wielding drunken psychopaths on the Right. Boring is actually better for that.

Who cares? They will vote for him because he isn't flashy. The media pretend the populace votes on big headlines but truth is they vote for whatever feels like it will make their life easier. If they have jobs, feel relatively safe and aren't being embarrassed they don't much care.

Biden would maybe have an issue on safety if Abortion and mass shootings weren't dominating the narrative. Inflation imho is an overblown issue overall when unemployment is so ridiculously low. Crime though does seem to be on the rise and would be a bigger deal if nutbars nazis weren't mass executing people and Women weren't now reduced to cattle by half the country.
