2023 NCAA Women's Tournament - Scores and Comments

Who are the refs? ECAC's?

They mentioned that one of them is a woman named Katie Guay. She was one of the refs when Wisconsin played Northeastern two years ago, so I remember looking her up then. Lots of experience, big games, etc. I think reffed in the Olympics.

They showed a replay when they came back from commercial that quite clearly showed the hand pass. She didn't move it much, but she did move it, and that helped the breakaway get started.

Didn't look to me like she managed to change the puck's trajectory but whatever *shrugs*

I expect Hilary Knight is flashing back to 2012 at Amsoil Arena, being in that building (I know I am). Wisconsin beat BC in the semis and then lost to Minnesota in the final.

An incredibly soft hand pass, but she changed the direction enough to give her teammate better access to it. Unfortunately for Northeastern, that player would likely have still been able to get at it. Good call by the ref. Great call by OSU coach.

What is the score -- I'm stuck working and the NCAA Live Scoreboard isn't.

What a positively dreadful use of the two player advantage for Northeastern. Couldn't even get a shot off from lower than the top of the circles. Impressive work from OSU keeping them out of the home plate area in that scenario.

Two years ago, Webster played a big role in Wisconsin beating Ohio State in the semis, and then beating Northeastern in the finals. "Small world".

I appreciate the updates. It is ridiculous to me that the NCAA mandates that everyone switch to their version of live stats at this point of the tournament, and then their site doesn't do anything other than replay the selection show and display the game start time. I shouldn't expect much from the organization that gave us decades of the RPI.
