2023 - 2024 SEASON : Boston College

MC swept the Eagles last year, but these teams are vastly different from last year. BC landed arguably the best recruiting class in HE history, while Merrimack lost a slew of post grad portal players who were instrumental to their 2nd place finish.
Ollas and Borgiel will have to stand tall if Mack is to earn any points this weekend.
I certainly hope that my alma mater doesn't resort to the "Merri-hack" stuff they pulled against BU earlier in the season. Given BC's skill level, that'd be a recipe for disaster.

BC has struggled so many times historically at Lawler that when you saw them down 2-0 after the first period, you had to be thinking "here we go again..." Great to see them emphatically respond in the second period and take care of business. Now follow up with a W on the back end tomorrow at home.

It's nice having talent that can quickly turn games around now and in difficult places to play.

If you're watching the PWR, UMass has at least temporarily dropped out of the field. That is a team to watch because if they make it in as a 4 seed they are in Springfield. And that would screw over BC or BU if they end up 1 seeds.

Good comeback win but they must stay disciplined. After goal #5 Leonard foolishly took an unsportsmanlike penalty and resulted in a MC goal that gave them life when it should have been the nail in the coffin ⚰️ Still lots of things to work on in a 5-4 game though it was 6-4 with ENG

Ya he was giving it to Borgiel for jumping on a BC player in the scrum right before that but gotta keep your cool.

About what I expected (I'm pragmatic). Gauthier with the "Pasta Hat Trick" (Even strength, PP and Empty net). Very surprised that MC was so strong on face offs, but I noticed that has been a concern for you guys.
Pretty apparent that Leonard like to chirp, but that was foolish. Glad that MC did not pack in it when it got to 5-2, and that they scored on the Leonard penalty.
Knew you guys would be good coming into the season, but might be even better than I thought. Gauthier stating his case for the Hobey.

How would that screw over anyone? because they get to sleep in their own beds?

Their fanbase is not gonna be a factor and the 1 seed will still be the “home” team for changes

Because in that scenario BU or BC gets shipped west to avoid an intra-conference first round matchup. Keep up.

Rematch tomorrow will not be easy but at least in a friendly rink. Got to keep disciplined and make good puck decisions

If you were looking for a potential PWR double whammy, North Dakota and St. Cloud lining up could cause further issues and result in having to play a tougher #4 seed. Just win baby but I do like tracking this around this time.

Providence:

1. BU (1)
2. Quinnipiac (8)
3. Minnesota (9)...Providence if committee goes wild for attendance
4. Minnesota State (16)

Springfield:

1. Wisconsin (4)
2. Maine (5)
3. Western Michigan (10)
4. UMass (13)

Sioux Falls:

1. North Dakota (3)
2. Denver (6)
3. Providence (11)/New Hampshire (12)...Minnesota is committee goes wild for attendance
4. RIT (15)

Missouri:

1. BC (2)
2. Michigan State (7)
3. Providence (11)/New Hampshire (12)
4. St. Cloud State (14)

Just to illustrate the possibilities.

And not be looking forward to next weekend. They know what's coming up as well as we all do, but they need to stay focused today.

JD, I won’t pretend to know how the committee chooses where to send the top 4 seeds but why do you have the BC regional going to Missouri instead of Springfield, is it just because UMass is hosting Springfield?

Yes, UMass has to be in Springfield.

I almost puked in my mouth with the thought of playing Michigan State in St. Louis again

And again…how does that hurt either? Neither one has a fan base large enough to make a difference. Perhaps you have not been to a providence, a manchester or an Albany regional with bu or bc in attendance. I ‘ll assume you just don’t know what you’re talking about so I eon’t rudely suggest that you “keep up”

Bad memories of that game. I was 25 rows behind the net where Justin Bleeping Abdelkader scored that goal with 18 ticks left.

So if you asked Greg Brown or Jay Pandolfo if they’d rather play in Springfield/Providence or fly west they’d both choose to travel by your logic???? Got it.

If those teams stay healthy, they would be 2-0 in Springfield, Providence, Missouri or Kiev. I don’t see traveling HURTING them.

i did not say they would RATHER travel (try to keep up)

where they would rather play is a completely different conversation…(knowing that by now you have no ability to keep up, i will seek out the “ignore” button)
