2023 - 2024 SEASON : Boston College

BC has to start sound and strong. QU obviously has our number over the recent times. Can't play like the first 2 periods vs MTU. Win more faceoffs and make good decisions with the puck and good quick breakouts. Good forechecking teams can cause big problems for BC leading to turnovers and opportunities. Just win ugly if you have to.

The refs decided to let the holding, hooking and cross checking go uncalled. It took BC awhile to adjust and fight through it. I thought BC did an excellent job back checking and Fowler was terrific. After all is said and done they only gave up one goal. They wear teams down and take over in the 3rd period.

QU is well coached, they will trap BC all over the ice and wait for their opportunities. BC has played against this strategy all year. Unlike Wisconsin, BC has the speed and playmakers to put a lot of pressure on QU.

Go Eagles!

I can’t stand Colby Cohen and Bucigross is almost but not quite as bad. I’m happy these games are televised but my god these two are bad. Saying that the penalty against Leonard was a dive on Leonard’s part is un fucking believable given that BC has three calls just like that go against them three games in a row. That was shoulder to head and should have been a game dq

Nice to see Malone get the winner, solid player, big addition to the team. Brown buried the 4th line, he was clearly frustrated but they found a way. On to St Paul. Love to see them play against Mich, they will meet up with our old friend and Captain, Marshall Warren.

Man, to rally from 2-0 down, then 3-2 down, then 4-3 down and somehow find your way back each time takes some guts. Absolutely love this squad. Definitely didn't play their best, but I call this kind of a win a character builder. Gotta play better in St. Paul but love to see the guys continue to come up clutch.

True story. I was watching the OT on my phone while taking a walk. BC scored the winner and a bird sh*t on my phone.

see ya in St. Paul. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

A little flukey goal at the end, but chaos in front of the net. AMbro got the helper, nice for him. The fourth goal was just terrific shot by Minnetian and nice dig out along the boards by Gauthier. QPAC is solid team and capitalized on their opportunities. There was a miss on an open net at the end of the third but that is hockey. That goes in an the game is over. Two weeks to rest up and watch these guys play again. Four teams getting to play in April. Great season for BC.

Cohen also tried to say that Q player played the puck (huh?)..then said Brown could review this if he wanted-must have had his head up Bucci’s butt, since the refs were already reviewing it…. I do not mind Bucci, as he has done some good BC broadcasts in NCAA over the years, but Cohen is a cliche babbler…Both guys were Q pushers, and probably had DraftKings bets in on this one…

Just got back from Providence and wow, was that stressful. Agree, they showed tremendous character to keep coming back against a very difficult opponent. I figured Quinnipiac would be a tough out, and they were all that and then some. Back in the Frozen Four for the first time since 2016. Onwards and upwards. Now I'll try to relax and watch the third period of Michigan-Michigan State to see who BC plays next.

Recovering from high blood pressure and resting at home watching Michigan just go ahead 2-1 in 3rd period

Ok ok everyone remain calm. I can’t believe it. No way in heck did I expect this after being down 2-0 and 4-3. We were cooked. Done. Fore.

The Leonard goal to tie it on the wraparound was another insane play from him. Minnetian sniping it just WOW (he stymied the QU rush and started the counterattack WOW). If he doesn’t there’s no chance we get another look at their net. Felt kind of good(ish) at that point. Ambrosio’s tip was the key on the winner, primary assist for him and let me tell you he was one of BCs best players this weekend and probably skating harder than anyone else on the team. Happy for Malone he has been great the past few weeks.

I believe this is BC’s first OT winner in the NCAAs since 2008 with Joe Whitney’s goal vs Miami. That game felt hopeless at 2-0 as well if I recall (and also most of OT until York called the timeout).

It’ll be Michigan in the late semi.

BC and BU both get the W after trailing 2-0. Crazy.

We were 2nd best for most of the game today. Our 3rd line was our best line all day. We found a way to win is the best way to put it but this was the worst we’ve played since the Beanpot.

I agree that Colby Cohen just sucks in the booth but I’m fine w Bucci.

Anyone know if GB told Marshall Warren to leave??? Just seems odd the captain doesn’t come back for his covid year, right?

I do not agree. Good even game, BC missed some golden chances in that first period, some good saves by Q goalie. Second period was back and forth, pretty even. Eagles came back from 2-0, 3-2, 4-3 to tie score..I would agree we had some poor clears, but Q is good on forecheck.
BC outshot them 32-30. Q missed a golden chance in 3rd, but BC had similar great chances in first period. OT was pretty even and 3rd line finished it off nicely. Our freshmen line was a bit off today, but Q is tough defensively, and Leonard is just fabulous goal scorer. Was not our best game, but it was an even contest.

Ambrosio works very hard to get himself in position to score but can’t put the puck in the net if his life depended on it but happy he gets credit for the assist for the winner

I hear you and the kid is skating so hard, that he throws himself off balance at times..but he has accepted his new role and I admire his effort. He is quick on forecheck and now making more simple plays. His drive to the net forced the Q D-man to take him out-left an opening for Malone to close on loose puck and bury it.
