What is it with USA Hockey and the Senior Mens level? They’ve won so much lately at the U18 and U20 level but at the World Championships and Olympics it just all goes flat. Even the last two World Cups they were bad. Fuck even the Slovakians have stumbled to a gold in the last 25 years.

I’m not talking just this Olympics, I’m talking about like the last 25 years. They’ve won the WJC five times, the U18 10 times but only a silver medal in 2002 and 2010 and a few bronzes at the World Championships. Just perennial underachievement at the senior level.

Guess we’ll see how Canada-Sweden shakes out, but maybe Group A just wasn’t a good group. Germany certainly wasn’t the force they were in 2018 and the US and Canada just beat up on China. With Slovakia beating Germany and the US and Canada winning a second game against China, Group A teams have only won against other Group A teams.
