Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers III: The Wrath of Warren

I’ve said in the past Warren is my second option. As far as the others I’ll vote for the lesser of evils in a general even if it’s Biden but I’m not gonna volunteer or donate to them.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers III: The Wrath of Warren

"terrible candidates"

In your own parlance, "D'ohkay".

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers III: The Wrath of Warren

Keeping innocent people in jail actually makes a candidate good you see...

Since Amy K is cooked, I'm now looking at Kamala or maybe Beto. I will have to look further before any further comment.

Beto's pretty much done, too. The 8 with a shot are Biden, Bernie, Warren, Harris, Mayor Pete, Booker, Castro, and maybe one more who could pull away from the field next debate.

There's probably 4 more who could legitimately stick around through Iowa/New Hampshire hoping lightning strikes, but the bottom 10 need to go now.

I will keep repeating this: no Biden/Bernie. For the love of God.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers III: The Wrath of Warren

Was flipping through the XM stations and stopped on POTUS 124 on the drive home. They brought up a good point in that Kamala needs to straighten her message out: Is she Medicaid for All (as she co-sponsored the Sanders plan) or is she really Healthcare for All, because Healthcare for All is the easier sell (keep your insurance, expand ACA to everyone else). The Dems in general need to start using "Bumper Sticker" platforms (short easy to understand statements like the GOP use). Their words on the show were "The GOP have these easy 'bumper sticker' sized platforms, the Dems have a bumper sticker platform, but it's followed by seven more bumper stickers." They also mentioned how the Dems need to lead the narrative on immigration reform, "because 95% of Democrats do NOT want open borders, but that's the selling point being rammed through by the GOP, and every time a Dem goes 'I don't want open borders, but...' they sound whiny and back-pedalling even though they're really just clarifying the misconception."

Basically, someone needs to step up and start making CLEAR, CORRECT, REASONABLE sound bites and get ahead of this. Someone who is savvy with media. Someone who can play Trump's game, just without the crazy.

Also, they raved about Kamala because her and Nanci Pelosi are the only ones to not be nicknamed / belittled directly by Trump. They attributed that to Trump's inability to deal with smart, powerful, well spoken women. One host even quipped "You know, the kind of people you never see hired by him within his company."

Frankly, if Nancy ran? 100% my vote, not even a question. However, she is perfect where she is. As others have mentioned, same with Warren. She fits in her position rather nice.

Kepler,

Let me preface this by saying that I mean this 100%. No irony, sarcasm or trolling. Between now and the election I want you to pay attention to how often you see Ultra Left Wingers attack the very same people who Trump attacks. It is usually a couple days later but it is almost always in lock step. It isnt a coincidence.

Kamala Harris is now unpure. Makes sense she is rising in the polls while their Chosen One is stagnate. (I blame Donna Brazille) So Joe Biden isnt good enough, Elizabeth Warren isnt good enough, Kamala Harris isnt good enough...love those Purity Tests!

Nobody in the D party establishment will be pure cause they all rich mudda flackers!!!!

If your state allows an unenrolled to choose which ballot you pick, perhaps consider voting for Weld on the republican side.... or check out Seth Moulton and send $1 to his campaign... perhaps he can get on the debate stage next time. (I do think Seth is a bit ahead of his time though... he will be a more viable candidate in 2028ish)

You are bizarre. Nancy, Warren, Klobuchar? But not anyone else?

Poor phrasing on my part, I think Warren is perfect where she is, much like Nancy. Pipe dream for Nancy to run, anyway.

And I didn't say no one else. I have to look into things before I decide who I'm backing.

Buttigieg's finished IMHO. Lack of experience hit home in the debate. In fact, once again that kos guy ripped me off when he correctly stated a few days after I did about how if Mayor Pete is having trouble running a city of 100,000 people why would you put him in charge of the country? African-American voters won't vote for him which means few if any delegates from Virginia to Texas and down to Florida when those states vote. You can't get wiped out on Super Tuesday and still win the nomination.

During her confirmation hearing, I asked Betsy DeVos if she would enforce rules that protect students from cheating for-profit schools. She hemmed and hawed and sent a terrifying message to students: you’re on your own.

Late Friday, she declared open season for swindlers and crooks by quietly throwing the rules on for-profit colleges in the garbage. I won’t stop fighting to hold Secretary DeVos accountable for turning her back on students.

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos on Friday officially repealed an Obama-era regulation that sought to crack down on for-profit colleges and universities that produced graduates with no meaningful job prospects and mountains of student debt they could not hope to repay.

The so-called gainful employment rule was issued by the Obama administration in 2014, right before huge for-profit chains collapsed, leaving students stranded with debt and worthless degrees. Under the new standards, career and certificate programs, many of which operate in the for-profit sector, would have to prove their graduates could find gainful employment to maintain access to federal financial aid. It also would have required schools to disclose in advertisements a comparison of the student debt load of their graduates and their career earnings.

In her first two years in office, Ms. DeVos has delayed critical parts of the rule, and last year, she sought to repeal it entirely, siding with for-profit industry leaders and congressional conservatives who have contended that the Obama administration unfairly targeted for-profit schools.

Seriously. Everyone *****es about forgiving student debt even though they didn't bat an eyelash about bailing out banks. And now we're going to let these ****s screw over kids who made an honest mistake by trying to better their lives.

This is a stupid country.

This administration is criminal. I hope someone is keeping a running account of everything they do and on 1/24/21 we introduce an omnibus bill to simply undo it all in one stroke. Just back out Dump and restore the prior build.

It won't help the victims in the present but it will restore the country to the Obama era at least. From there we can start repealing all the heists. Forward to 1978. Or 1958.

And now for something completely different, a campaign speech by William McKinley in 1896, and a lengthy one from Woodrow Wilson 1912 (there's a screw up around 00:43 but stay with it, it works out).
