Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers III: The Wrath of Warren

I never donate to politicians, but after the overall poor performances over the last two nights, I just made a token contribution to Seth Moulton and would encourage others to do the same. He would have been much better on the stage one of the last two nights than at least half of the people up there.

No. He did not kick Bernie's ***. Although I think at this point we should stick a fork in both of them. Bernie's right, but Liz actually has the plans to fix it. Unfortunately no one is going to give her the chance to do it. Talked to a good liberal friend today and he thinks she can't get elected. And I think that is probably true. There's a guy on MSNBC who says all the time she would get crushed. It's very disconcerting to here things like that.

Disconcerting, but I don't disagree with the analysis. I think Warren would face the same fate as Hillary. (Although I like her as my senator, have voted for her twice and would vote for her again)

$1 to help get someone on the stage who could beat Trump. If it does not happen for him this year it can help with name recognition for a potential Democrat rising star for future.... 2024, 2028 or 2032.

we need fewer people in the debates not more. If he didn't even make these two debates, he doesn't have a chance.

He has no chance of getting into the running, but I could see bright things nationally for Steve Bullock in the future.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers III: The Wrath of Warren

Has he really been that bad?

Inquiring "Centrists" want to know ;)

He started off well enough, but got progressively louder and more "Viva la revolución, camarada!", as he does. Then he really went downhill when they brought up guns and he tried to deny the quote Maddow read to him as a "mischaracterization", to uproarious laughter from the audience.

18 months before the election and 6 months before the first primary? Why?

I hate to give the DNC credit for anything but they're handling it correctly. Start with a very broad field, give anyone with 1% their 15 minutes, then winnow it by upping the requirements. Let the cream rise to the top.

There was no problem at all with the 10 person debates as a first pass. People get way too judgy judgy about this stuff. No need to be impatient.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers III: The Wrath of Warren

At this point Bernie pretty much sounds like a stereotypical crazy old grandpa who talks too loud because he is hard of hearing.

It's OK, he had his time and my god he made a difference. He needs to stay in to have somebody farther left than Warren so all those Very Serious People can choose her as the moderate version of him and pat themselves on the back.
