I think we all know it's a little more complex than that.

It really isn't. If they want jobs, then they can embrace the modern service economy, instead of digging in their heels and whining that they don't have the same job they did 30 years ago.

The modern service economy pays unlivable wages, doesn't provide adequate healthcare, and has zero opportunity for advancement. That's not a real solution and only serves to maintain the unsustainable status quo.

Attitudes like this literally empower fascism. If Trump is gonna give pie in the sky promises about overturning Washington, taking on Wall St., and bringing back the jobs you mention, then the opponent better at least have some type of similar or better goals and show a basic competency of what the problem is (even Trump managed to do this with NAFTA). Your solution is gonna wind up in a large number of people not taking the effort to vote and at best the dems win in the short term at the expense of the long game.

As much as I give Obama grief on here for his record I do think the guy was an excellent campaigner and his rhetoric was always on point. He said the right things in terms of a more economically just country in which CEO wages aren't skyrocketing at the expense of large swaths of the population and wage stagnation. The recent generations are some of the most highly educated compared to their previous counterparts and yet they're earning less in real wages than the previous ones. Obama recognized this general trend and brought it up a lot in his speeches and SOU Addresses, I wish he would've done more in terms of actual policy to back up the rhetoric but at the very least he knew how to win by saying the right things and pushing the right buttons among the US population for the most part.

There is always flight simulator. Some afffectionados (oes?) have built contraptions that behave like a real flight simulator.

I was one of those people, though I never had the fully enclosed setup. I did have the yoke and pedals though (and I would switch to a left-side joystick when simming an Airbus).

I've heard of groups of sim geeks that simulate full airline service, complete with ATC calls and actual arrival/departure schedules.

I did that, too. "Virtual airlines" they are called. And there used to be a MMO server for live "virtual ATC" where they navigated you around weather and other pilots who were online. I can't remember what it was called.

The question is...why would Anti-Semites rally for Bernie since he is, ya know, a Jew? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Lets not pretend though only "Centrists" are Anti-Semitic. Hating Jews runs the political spectrum and has since forever. The reasons just are different. (see also: Muslims, Blacks, Latinos...etc.)

edit: Politco pulled the tweet but the screenshot is out there. I probably would have avoided the word cheap but it could have been way worse. It ranks up there with the ridiculous Ilhan comments only she has the excuse she is new to her job...Politico is just stupid.
