2019-20 D1 Scores

Really disappointed in the way that Minnesota gave the lead up. Pass the puck and better yet catch a pass. Seems so simple but for whatever reason this Gopher team is really struggling to do that.

Gotta disagree. The Gophers have controlled all but five minutes of each period. And Duluths's second goal took some unfortunate bounces before ending up on Brodt's stick. Overall, they're doing fine.

It's a win is my final answer.

There is a lot more I could say but at this point playing the way they did and coming away with 4 pts on the weekend seems fortunate.

Gophers pull it out but faded badly in the 3rd, getting outshot 2-19, but only give up one. All in all a good weekend (results wise) for the visitors.

Maine and Northeastern are tied at 2 apiece, heading to overtime. Shots in regulation were 52-25 Northeastern.

Maine's Celine Tedenby scores 38 seconds in to win it.

Re: 2019-20 D1 Scores

BC 1, Minnesota 1 after a period. The Gophers had the 5-6 best scoring chances, but gave up a shortie when too many players got caught up ice, #17 faked Knowles out of her skates, and Scobee should have made the save.

Re: 2019-20 D1 Scores

BC 2, Minnesota 1 after two periods. The Eagles dominated that period and deserve to be ahead, but there's no excuse for giving up two short handed goals in a game.

The officiating isn't just bad; they seem to have no idea what they are doing. The linemen are constantly out of position and are making calls at random. Several times, the puck has gone into the bench and bounced back into play without a whistle. And the penalty calls and non- calls in combination are ridiculous.

Re: 2019-20 D1 Scores

Game ends Minnesota 2, BC 2. After owning the second, the Eagles managed 2 shots over the last 25 minutes of play. The game came down to BC hitting the pipetwice with one going in, while Minnesota hit the pipe twice and they both stayed out.

And we apparently remain so terrified of ties that we have to have a shootout for no reason.

Re: 2019-20 D1 Scores

BC 2,Minnesota 2 headed to overtime. The third period was all Gophers and bad officiating.
Shots were a combined 19-2 in the 3rd period and overtime but the Gophers just couldn't find a way to put another one in. Maddy McArthur was outstanding in goal with 41 saves.
Question: Other than entertainment for the fans, why bother with a shootout? Of course officially it's a tie, with no additional conference points at stake.

Edit: Posted before seeing the question of the shootout already having been raised.

That was a tremendous showcase of the game. Very entertaining. The Preds must be pleased so far. Small rink but good crowd.
