Re: 2017 MLB Season - The Goat Memorial Thread

Works for me... ?

I think it's because it saves state conditions on your local machine. My machine doesn't know about them so I just get a null set on the query. The query isn't captured in the url so it is not available to me.

I found the issue. You have to be logged in.

However that search you listed just returns games with exactly 27 hits. I'm not sure that is what you were looking for. :-)

Twins last night. 28 hits in 8 innings. Happened twice before. Only once in the last 60ish years when Boston beat the Marlins.

Nope. Games with 27 or more.

I reverse sorted it to get by the subscribe mask. The bottom two games are the only other times it's happened.

Edit:
Current search:
From 1917 to 2017, Only 9-inning games or shortened, At Home, (requiring H>=27), sorted by smallest H

Got it to work (very nice workaround BTW).

For us old farts and fartettes, today used to be the trading deadline (prior to 1986).

Speaking of, isn't that weird interval that defines the "vested year in service" threshold be right about now? i.e., if you bring your bonus baby up now you have a 99% probability of still owning his slave rights for the extra year even if he doesn't go back down?

Wow, is that true? I have completely edited that out of my mind and thought it was always in mid July, just in time for the Mets to have maximal ambiguity of whether they should buy or sell, like Buridan's as-s.

See when Bryce Harper joined the Nats in his rookie year and you have the answer. I *think* it's 30 games in, but I would not bet our 1970 National title on it. :)

It's really weird -- it can't be calculated until the season ends, and it varies by year somewhere within a 20+ day range. The important thing is it can't be predicted ahead of time, which is truly messed up.

Looks like Berrios is starting to be the pitcher us Twins fan thought he would be. Goes a career high 8 innings today and moves to 6-1 with an ERA of 2.74.

Re: 2017 MLB Season - The Goat Memorial Thread

Twins play the Indians. So we may be at the end of this 1st place run.

63 games. It's been fun.

Aaron Gleeman ✔ @AaronGleeman
No hitter in the history of baseball has ever had more homers (58) *and* more walks (141) than Miguel Sano through 250 career games.

I have never heard of Miguel Sano.

Consider this fair warning.

When he's a yankee some day, you're not going to be happy.

I won't be happy when he's a Nat. The Yankees don't concern me at all.

Then again, by then Julio Mario Santo Domingo III will own the Mets and we'll have an $800M payroll, so we'll have him.
