2017-2018 D1 Women's Hockey Scores

Wow! Way to go RMU. Wonder how the pollsters will treat this.

The 7-3 game seems like a mirage. Colantino gets a lot out of his team and they respond to him well. He owes a big thank you to the OSU coach for calling a time out after his team iced the puck late in the game.

Windjammer Classic results:

Consolation: Colgate 6, RIT 1
Championship: Minn. Duluth 2, UVM 1

A fantastic tournament in Burlington this weekend.

BC 7 Northeastern3...and I thought the turkey, gravy, velvety mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie might Slowe Watts a Little Moore. I was wrong.

BU and bc end up in a 2-2 tie. That's probably a moral victory for the Terriers as they did a good job of shielding the energy of the bc high powered attack and lowered the Watts factor.

WCHA scores:

Wisconsin over Duluth, 5-1 (Duluth goal with 2.3 seconds remaining in the game)
Ohio State and St Cloud (!) tie 2-2, with OSU winning the shootout
Bemidji and Minnesota tied 2-2, heading to overtime.

Gophers win in OT, goal with under a minute to play.

Mercyhurst shuts out Robert Morris 1-0 on the road. Kennedy Blair was a star in net all game, but especially when stopping a mini breakaway for Howard followed by a flurry of rebounds from RMU, late in the third.

After 2 Periods

Clarkson 4 RPI 1
SLU 2 Union 1
Quinny 2 Prinny 1
Robert Morris 2 Colgate 1

Great late-game comeback by Union last night scoring 2 extra attacker goals 34 seconds apart with just over 2 minutes to play in regulation to tie RIT 3-3 after a scoreless OT. Wonder if that will carry over to today's game. You would have to think so. Tough going for RIT to squander a 2 goal lead that late in the game. On the other side of the puck, what a boost for Union to have such a dramatic comeback. Well done!

Some leads have gotten away, so it must be nice to be on the other side of a rally for a change.

Re: 2017-2018 D1 Women's Hockey Scores

Saw this and had to look it up - what a terrible and embarrassing hire this guy was. Early line on coaches who are going to lose their jobs at the end of the season has Kenneally from Brown as my leading candidate. Brown has primarily become a program where passable playing, well-educated kids from prep schools go for a good education and endure the hockey experience. He may be a nice, quality person (I don't know), but he sure as heck has no place as a D1 coach.

Kenneally's stats:

- 17-18 - 0-6 to date - with two 11 goals against games - and we're past the excuse that he is coaching the previous coaches players.
- 16-17 - 7-22 - on the surface doesn't look bad until you realize it include 2 wins against Sacred Heart, 2 wins against Union, and 2 meaningless wins the last weekend of the season against teams out of the playoffs
- 15-16 - 3-23-3 - Also includes a win against Sacred Heard and a win against Union

By comparison, Bourbeau's (previous coaches) stats:

- 14-15 - 5-23-1 - no really soft wins
- 13-14 - 4-20-5
- 12/13 - 6-20-1
- 11/12 - 8-16-7

NOT GETTING BETTER!!!

Uhhhhh...... so Brown lost 5-4 to Sacred Heart!!!! Now they can't even consistently beat what is effectively a slightly above average D3 team. I don't care if they played their B goalie or whatever - this is embarrassing beyond belief for the program, the school, and the players. Sacred Heart hasn't beaten an established D1 team in over 10 years.....

They are now 2-13 for the season. This includes a win over Sacred Heart and what is now looking like a shocking win over Dartmouth (who really should be asking themselves what happened). Brown needs to either can this coach and hire somebody who has a clue (Amy Bourbeau was better than this guy) or just admit they don't care about women's hockey anymore, drop the program, and start some other sport up where they might be more competitive with less expense.

Guess who is really having the last laugh right now? That's right, Digit Murphy. Would the braniacs at Brown consider offering her old job back to her?! It might be the smartest thing they could do to get this program back on track. Losing to Sacred Heart is actually unforgivable.
