2017-2018 D1 Women's Hockey Scores

Re: 2017-2018 D1 Women's Hockey Scores

The last couple seasons under Murphy weren't exactly on track. I thought Bourbeau did fairly well, given the shape of the program when she took over. Brown is starting to look like one of those jobs that will prove difficult for any coach.

I definitely agree with your last sentence. They are becoming the new Union. Yes, Murphy's last 4 seasons were not impressive but not much different compared to every season since then under both Borbeau and this clown. Her body of work there is obviously impressive and that blows away Borbeau and this guy combined. That's why she's still a better head coach than either or both of them. Obviously Brown will never hire her back but it's fun to think about it anyway.

Player treatment was an unofficial reason for Murphy's dismissal and some of the stories I've heard are not good - no school wants to bring that back in once they get rid of it.

The commentary that it is a job that would be difficult for anyone may be true, but that was said about Union as well and they are better now (albeit still not good). At least they no longer embarrass Union with their performance. The primary issue at Brown is that they hired a coach who was an administrator, with no experience coaching women, arguable experience coaching men, and no recruiting or other connections whatsoever in the women's hockey world. His hiring was actually an insult to the many potential coaching candidates and to the players on the team and committed players. He may be a nice, standup guy (I have no idea), but he obviously doesn't know jack about coaching D1 women's hockey and is in way over his head.

Bingo!

Watts is lighting up the scoreboard tonight. She had an assist on BC's first goal and a short handed goal in period 1 and now has 1 shorthanded and 2 even strength goal in period 2. Score BC 5 UNH 0 in period 2.
TTT getting his shutout so far toknight. ;)

Dartmouth 3, Union 2

Tough loss for Union, especially being at home. Dartmouth came in tied with Brown for last place in ECACH. If Union has any aspiration of sneaking into the playoffs, not pocketing these two points tonight could come back and haunt them. A missed opportunity.

I am SO PLEASED y'all
Part of me thinks that this might finally be BC's year; the other part of me believes it may just be the universe's way of raising your hopes so that they can come crashing down.

After a letdown against Dartmouth on Friday, Union rebounds with a nice 3-1 win over Harvard. It's only Union's second win all-time vs the Crimson.

Northeastern upsets BC 4-2 on three third-period goals. BC's lack of anything resembling a good defense continues to be a problem.
