2017-18 Schedules Thread

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

http://advancement.brown.edu/busf/do...y_Schedule.pdf - From the Brown Thread

Mistake as to 12/2 game - Should be RPI and not Princeton.

I don't think SLU will be involved at all with our games with Canisius, I can only make the assumption that Casey wanted a game in before returning to conference play as it would've been just over a month from the last game in early December so that is why the games are split up, I personally like the idea but our non-conference is no joke and then you're adding a Canisius team that returns a lot of scoring and should be on the top of AH, it will be another great test for Clarkson.

Quick fix on the URL: http://advancement.brown.edu/busf/docs/2017-2018_Men's_Hockey_Schedule.pdf (yours got cut off; be sure to copy the actual URL and not just text in the forum)

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

No problem.

Does the Round Table have a thread specific to schedule? I didn't see much of anything... I know eLynah has one for the purposes of Cornell's schedule...

No there is not, I know the schedule has been discussed in a few threads but I don't think one will be put up until the official schedule is announced. Every opponent is in order so the dates will be all announced soon.

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

Updates to UAH's schedule:

* Moved: UAH at Northern Michigan, from Feb. 2-3 to Dec. 1-2
* Moved: Northern Michigan at UAH, from Oct. 27-28 to Feb. 3-4
* Added: UAH at Cornell, Oct. 27-28

http://uahchargers.com/news/2017/5/...unces-schedule-changes-to-2017-18-season.aspx

That's terrific news; I'm really glad you were able to get to the point where you can play 34 games. :) Given in the past you haven't gone over that even when permitted, I'll assume effective completeness.

Would someone who is a member of eLynah be so kind as to let them know? I don't have an account there.

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

The UMass-UConn game seems to lock in UVM's other three Hockey East games as UNH, NU, and UConn. This locks in the final game as NU-UNH.

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

Looks like the the two year, closest/high-tier/middle-tier/low-tier was absolutely correct. Here's the final three-game pairings:

Order over last two years: BC, UML, Prov, BU, MC, NE, UVM, UCONN, UNH, Maine, UMA

Team: Closest, Upper, Middle, Lower (predictions in order)
BC: UML, Prov, UCONN, Maine
BU: Prov, MC, UCONN, Maine
UCONN: UVM, BC, BU, UMA
Maine: UMA, BC, BU, UNH
UMA: Maine, Prov, MC, UCONN
UML: BC, NE, UVM, UNH
MC: NE, Prov, BU, UMA
UNH: Maine, UML, NE, UVM
NE: MC, UML, UVM, UNH
Prov: BU, BC, MC, UMA
UVM: UCONN, UML, NE, UNH

From what I understand, these pairings will remain the same for next year, only with the sites reversed. Then, we go through this exercise again.

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

Michigan Tech and Ferris State have swapped home series dates for the upcoming season.

Effectively complete* schedules:

AHC: Nothing yet

HEA: Conference Opponents Known
UMASS Amherst
UMASS Lowell
Providence

B1G: Conference schedule released
Minnesota
Ohio State
Penn State
Wisconsin

NCHC: Conference schedule released

WCHA: Conference schedule released

* Effectively complete meaning the school has released the full schedule, or enough alternate information has been reported to determine the schedule is complete, minus exhibition games. Discretion will be used to determine whether WCHA teams will be using their entire allotment.
** Announced schedule is long by two games. Something has to give, or special permission has to be granted for two game exhibition series.

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

The article does state we will know the dates of the GLI at some point this month once the NHL has finalized, obviously in accordance with what was stated earlier this thread. I am using "Who, When, Where" to determine completeness, and since we do not yet know the "When" to the precision of the date (time isn't listed as that's not usually that important to travel arrangements, which is why we'd want to know), they aren't complete on the list that I posted earlier.

Somewhere in Mankato, in a building on campus, an administrator cried softly, and muttered, "It's Minnesota State. Minnesota State."

I bet more people think my alma mater's in Rochester.:p

Isn't there also a "Minnesota State" in Moorhead (although they don't have a D-I team yet, I seem to recall a rumor thread about them)? And just out of curiosity, how would St. Cloud State not be considered Minnesota State? I'm not sure I quite get that...

Or are these all questions that are best left unanswered? ;)

There are long answers, and most of them make no sense. I believe St. Cloud had a choice to also be Minnesota State-St. Cloud (We're under the same board of regents, but the U and UMD are under a different one), but they had the foresight to realize that people would screw up the name for at least the next 20 years!
