2017-18 Schedules Thread

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

My original copy also has UConn at Maine that weekend and I also have a tentative that has Maine at RPI the same time so who knows!

I just hope the person that told you didn't read my earlier phrase of "we played last year", because the "we" I was referring to was Ohio State.

Also, men/women have done four games in two days at HFH in the past (always fun as a band member, do a little hanging out between the games), so if your hypothesis happens to be the correct one, we probably won't see a Sunday game. Although a part of me is thinking no, based on the fact that that weekend is Homecoming weekend for football if I'm not mistaken. Maybe we'll get our 12th game there instead in order to spread out the events across the weekend (although a Saturday game would help to maximize attendance for both events; you don't have to go far between both).

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

Clarkson @ Canisius on 12/2, Canisius @ Clarkson 1/2

Tuesday game? That's a little odd... And I only say that because SLU is also scheduled to play Canisius, and I'd think there'd be some sort of "broken travel partnering" going on there. I would venture a guess they'd be in Buffalo for 1 December... but what about the other one? After all, SLU's in the Catamount Cup, so I don't think they'd do the 3rd... you sure you didn't mean 5 or 6 January?

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

Was it ever discovered how Lake Superior State is able to play 4 exhibition games?

SLU should have 2 against Canisius at Appleton, Clarkson looks to have a home and home against Canisius. Given what tech is saying, it could be possible that Canisius is making a week long trip to the NC, and having their 2 against SLU Jan 5/6(?).

I had CCT as 2 at home originally, so I don't know where the heck this home/home thing came from...

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

Lost all the analysis from before trying to reply to this post when I edited. :( Here's the final pairings:

Order over last two years: BC, UML, Prov, BU, MC, NE, UVM, UCONN, UNH, Maine, UMA

Team: Closest, Upper, Middle, Lower (predictions in order)
BC: UML, Prov, UCONN, Maine
BU: Prov, MC, UCONN, Maine
UCONN: UVM, BC, BU, UMA
Maine: UMA, BC, BU, UNH
UMA: Maine, Prov, MC, UCONN
UML: BC, NE, UVM, UNH
MC: NE, Prov, BU, UMA
UNH: Maine, UML, NE, UVM
NE: MC, UML, UVM, UNH
Prov: BU, BC, MC, UMA
UVM: UCONN, UML, NE, UNH

From what I understand, these pairings will remain the same for next year, only with the sites reversed. Then, we go through this exercise again.

Providence had the CCT/SLU weekend reversed. Because they have the latest schedule, I'll assume they're correct unless hearing otherwise.

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

Speculation time: Western Michigan has 4 NC games remaining. Something tells me they may play Michigan State and Notre Dame. Both could be easily done on 20-21 October, and Notre Dame around New Years.

Still plenty of room for non-con games across the east; not sure what sense can be made there yet.

Link to this year's spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tOhCK4qXRHp0CRY8P3AswlwtPHWGdpk08c3pHev5-Fw/

Effectively complete* schedules:

AHC: Nothing yet

ECAC: Non-travel partner conference schedule mostly released
Dartmouth
Union

HEA:
UMASS Lowell
Providence

B1G: Conference schedule released
Minnesota
Ohio State
Penn State
Wisconsin

NCHC: Conference schedule released
Colorado College
Denver
Miami
Minnesota Duluth
Nebraska Omaha
North Dakota
St. Cloud State

WCHA: Conference schedule released
Alabama Huntsville **
Alaska Anchorage
Alaska Fairbanks
Bemidji State
Ferris State
LSSU ***
Mankato State *
Northern Michigan *

Independent:
Arizona State

* Effectively complete meaning the school has released the full schedule, or enough alternate information has been reported to determine the schedule is complete, minus exhibition games. Discretion will be used to determine whether WCHA teams will be using their entire allotment.
** Short by 2 games even if you don't take exemptions into account; 6 if you do. Hopefully they're able to get in some exhibitions. :(
*** Announced schedule is long by two games. Something has to give, or special permission has to be granted for two game exhibition series.

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

This was from a post from Arizona State.

"ASU, Alabama-Huntsville Swap Home-and-Home Series; Devils host Chargers on Nov. 3-4, 2017, Travel to Huntsville on Oct. 19-20, 2018."

Fair enough; I just hope UAH is getting some more games on that now open weekend, whether it's eastern teams or exhibitions.
