Re: 2016 Summer Olympics - Ready or not, here we come!!

The Olympic anthem is probably my least favorite anthem at the Olympics.

Is it still going on? I figured it was over 2 hours ago.

It ended about 10-15 minutes ago. Yes, longer than usual. I think they were adding time because they had to cut down on the pizzazz due to budgetary concerns in Rio.

Watching table tennis right now, 40 year old from the Congo playing some young gun from Puerto Rico. A Congolese 40 looks a lot like a US 60.

Not that I know anything about it, but Water Polo is probably the most endurance-testing sport at the Olympics.

ETA: And it was reported that the first gold medal of the games went to a 19 year old American in Air Rifle. Apparently it was a huge upset. Good for her.

I like the coverage of water polo but was it necessary to have Pierre swim back and forth between the benches?

My nephew played water Polo at a d3 school. He said it's unreal how much pushing and shoving goes on under water.

Not by a long shot. 32 minutes, with quarter breaks, time-outs, goal stoppages, and substitutions vs a 6-hour bike race with none of those things?

Water polo is a series of sprints, not a pure endurance sport. Amazing athletes, of course - just don't think you have them in the right category.
