2016 MN Boys Hockey Tourney- Let the Good Locks Flow

Re: 2016 MN Boys Hockey Tourney- Let the Good Locks Flow

Can we get to the real meat of this: Can we still call them Hairmantown?

Re: 2016 MN Boys Hockey Tourney- Let the Good Locks Flow

I'd just like to point out that the Class A title is actually going south from where it's been the last two years. Stop lying to the people!

Actually, Hermantown just needs to stop scoring, show some sportsmanship. I'd be embarrassed to be a parent of a kid scoring at this point. 11-3, 3 minutes remaining.

Chase Ellingson, a Mr. Hockey finalist from Breck scored the 7th or 8th goal of the game against us. I have no problems with it. Those kids work hard to get to the big stage, they've earned it. He's going for Mr. Hockey, there are possible records at stake, if you don't want the score to be 8-0 (or 11-3 in The case above) be better and keep the puck out of the net.

Mavsy's squad won their first Consolation game this morning at Mariucci 3-0 over Princeton, shots 31-17 for Kato West. Congrats Mavsy!

Thank you! A huge win for our team and our hockey community. Enormous. The kids don't quite understand how important that win is yet.

Klatt and O'Leary have both been head coaches in games I've seen. Any other former Gopher players coaching teams in the tournament this year?

Our Head Coach Curtis Doell was a UMD Bulldog and our defense assistant coach Danny Heath was a Minnesota State Maverick.

Just saw a Mankato West player was chosen as the Class A Brooks Award winner. Quite an honor and congrats to him!

Buckle up for what may be an exciting 17 minutes! 3-3 going into the third.

No doubt he's an amazing player, but the behavior displayed by Middlestadt after their loss was pathetic. Chalk up another prima donna, never been told 'no' in his life, doesn't know how to lose with class, recruit for tDon.

Prove me wrong, Casey. Please.

You've based your judgement on one performance and have in general demonstrated yourself to be a complete meathead so...

My wife and I noticed the same thing. It is completely classless to take off your medal after winning it, because you're too much of a sore loser.

I'm curious as to what this horrible behavior was as I missed the game. Also, I wouldn't read too much into it. You have a high school junior who'd just lost the biggest game in all of his hockey-playing days. Not every child will handle it with the grace of a seasoned veteran. He could very well grow out of it, especially if others have told him that people are watching those sorts of actions going forward. Children are impulsive and need their behavior corrected from time to time.

I'm hoping I'm not reading too much into it as well. As has been pointed out, when he received his medal, after it was placed on his neck, he immediately ripped it off his neck in tantrum-fashion. His facial expression was one of pure 'pout'. This carried through to the all-tourney team selection and photograph.

I get that he just lost a huge game. Not everyone handles and processes that the same. However, I've watched every championship game for the last 10+ years, and I have never seen a player behave like he did. Many players cry, many are stoic, and many are somewhere in between. But he was immature and childish to a level I hadn't seen before. No tears of sorrow, no grace. Just pouting.

I get that it's one performance, and I truly hope it's not indicative of him in general. But as they say, the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.

But then again, I'm a meathead, so...

USA Hockey HS Nationals start tomorrow. I'm doing score/time for the Wayzata game tomorrow morning. To help the PA announcer, it's
Why ZET ah, not Why ZAT ah, right?
