2016 MLB Season - Curses, foiled again?

I get why so many here have feelings for the Cubs due to watching them a lot when they were young.
Exactly, what really made them gain such a wide fan base was being broadcast on WGN nation wide, and their daytime start heavy schedule. Home sick from school? Price is Right at 10am, Cubs at 1pm. Harry Caray, the ivy, and .500 baseball.

Honestly, I loved watching them too growing up. I just didn't become a fan of them. My wife is a big Cubs fan because of their WGN exposure. That and she's a Braves fan (again, thanks to TBS).

Looks like the Rangers stadium deal passed. And oh, are Arlington voters getting scammed.

When impartial economists have studied stadium projects, the numbers have shown time and time again that public financing of stadiums are a boondoggle to local economies, that the increase in economic activity does not equate to the public capital spent on the stadium when considering all opportunity costs (school funding, highway construction, etc.). Is that your definition of betting scammed?

Yep.

WHAT!?!?!?

@Ken_Rosenthal: Colon’s $12.5M salary with #Braves will be his highest since 2007, when he earned $16M with #Angels. Made $7.25M with #Mets last season.

The pitching market really went nuts last year, and there's very little good starting pitching this offseason.

Really surprised to see the Braves load up like this. First RA Dickey, now Bartolo Colon.

Baseball avoids a lockout and agrees to a five year CBA (expires after 2021 season).

Changes: Really none. A couple minor changes to draft picks for FA signings. No International Draft. Luxury Tax will increase over the life of the CBA, but not by much.

This time it doesn't count anymore. <a href="https://apnews.com/331d6e369c2147709dde04ae7f0507b1/APNewsBreak:-All-Star-Game-no-longer-determines-Series-start">ASG will no longer determine home field for the World Series</a>.

Good riddance to that folly.

Good. That was a stupid idea from Day 1.
