Cubs are on the board first. Ben Zobrist laid out the Indians catcher with a nice hit.

All the taunting Cleveland's basketball team did about a 3-1 blown lead is going to bite Cleveland's baseball team.

I wouldn't turn this game off till 27 outs have been recorded and the Cubs are still leading...

BELIEVE IN THE GOAT! :p

Theo Epstein treats curses like Michael Myers treats promiscuous babysitters.

ETA: OTOH, so does Francona...

Is Joe Maddon trying to lose?

ETA: that's an out. Chapman is hurt.

Re: 2016 MLB Season - Curses, foiled again?

He's going to try to make sure there's a Game 7 in the first place. Now, what happens if we get there is anyone's guess. But they've got Hendricks, Lester and Lackey all available tomorrow, too. Everybody's got 3 1/2 months to rest their arms after tomorrow.

I'd have used one of their "lesser" pitchers tonight, I guess. Save the big bad Chapman for tomorrow and let him loose. *shrug*

I wanna know Maddon's reasoning. Really. Obviously, he's smarter than you and me in the ways of baseball, but WTeff?

He thinks this gives him the best chance to get to game seven. He doesn't have the luxury Francona has to rest his pitchers. I'd still let someone else finish, especially after that swing...
