Re: 2016 MLB Season - Curses, foiled again?

Very weird situation in Yankee Stadium last night. Yankees win on a closer meltdown and a walk-off Mark Texeira granny and celebrate wildly on the field. Red Sox walk glumly off the field, go to the locker room and spray champagne because they backed into the Division championship since Baltimore had previously beaten Toronto.

This was probably the second-best scenario as far as the rest of the country was concerned, after "Tactical Nuclear Strike."

Cubs and Pirates tie 1-1 after rain suspends the game in the 6th. First tie in MLB since 2005.

Re: 2016 MLB Season - Curses, foiled again?

Mets make the post-season in consecutive years for only the second time (99-00) in their 55 seasons.

Re: 2016 MLB Season - Curses, foiled again?

Dodgers should probably rest their starters tomorrow, to make sure they're fresh for the playoffs.

Iwakuma having a meltdown at the worst possible time...

Cano and Cruz heroics tie it up 7-7 in the 7th. M's must win to stay alive.

The dodgers are off until Friday and with a chance to put a crimp in the Giants playoff hopes I don't think anybody rests until Monday.

So if I'm reading the standings correctly:

Giants win and they're in.

If the Giants lose and the Cardinals win... one game playoff?

@timcarrollart: When #Vin Scully called his 1st Dodgers game the polio vaccine didn't exist, Einstein was still alive, & the world hadn't met Elvis Presley.

I like the one Brenthoven came up with a while back: Since 1886, either Connie Mack or Vin Scully has been employed by a major league team.
