2016 MLB Season - Curses, foiled again?

If it's a three way tie, the procedure is A hosts B, with the loser playing at C for the second spot. The two winners then play the actual wild card game.

The teams get to pick which designation (A, B, or, C) based on other procedures like head to head record and the like.

This leads to the possible scenario of the Mets playing five games in six days in four different cities. They end the season in Philly. They could then go to St. Louis for the first tiebreaker, lose, go to S.F. for the second tiebreaker, win, go back to St. Louis for the actual wild card game, win, then go to Chicago for the NLDS.

Mets and Giants won last night. Cardinals didn't play.

Cardinals lose to the Cubs, now 1.0 games back.

I was eating lunch and saw CHI turn a 3-5-4 double play (STL runners on first-and-second, bunt attempt by STL). I hadn't seen a 3-5-4 in a while; and, it was the tough 3-5-4 because 4 was covering first base!

Apparently Marlins P Jose Fernandez has been killed in a boating accident.

Mets have 3 left @ Phil
Giants have 4 @ home Colo tonight, the Dodgers for 3
Cardinals have 4 @ home Cin tonight, Pitt for 3

I think the Mets have the top spot locked up. The Giants and Cardinals both look flat out awful. The fact that either of them will make the playoffs is kind of a joke.

You're correct about the Card's and Giants but somebody's gotta make it. Saw a stat this am that the Giants have 30 blown saves this season and I believe 9 or 10 of those have been in the 9th inning. :(

Very weird situation in Yankee Stadium last night. Yankees win on a closer meltdown and a walk-off Mark Texeira granny and celebrate wildly on the field. Red Sox walk glumly off the field, go to the locker room and spray champagne because they backed into the Division championship since Baltimore had previously beaten Toronto.
