A Bud Light ad for equal pay?

OK, I did not expect that. Is this a public service punishment for mislabeling the urine of Bulgarian diabetics for the last 30 years?

Trouble is, no other beer charges differently if you're a man or woman. I get it and all, cool, but a bad attempt at a joke.

Travis d'Arnaud just took the worst foul off the nuts I have ever seen.

It was one of the sneaky ones that ricochets off the ground under the glove and comes right back up with no apparent loss of momentum.

Gary Cohen: "I believe he took it off the (pause) wrist."

Chris Sale decided to tailor the throwback jerseys the White Sox were scheduled to wear tonight.

And was promptly sent home by the team, and they're wearing the wrong throwback jerseys tonight.

So the White Sox had a Sale on throwback jerseys?

(So blalatanly stolen).

I think we're gonna throwback that joke.

Looks like a deal is in place to send Chapman to the Cubs for 4 players. SS Gleyber Torres is part of the deal (#15 prospect overall. Yeah, I had to look him up, too.)

Done deal and Cubs are working on extending him.

"Generally speaking, this all boils down too:

Rookie Davis
Eric Jagielo
Caleb Cotham
Tony Renda
35 innings of Adam Warren
Brendan Ryan
a few months of bad PR stemming from Chapman’s domestic violence incident

for

31.1 innings of Aroldis Chapman
Starlin Castro
Gleyber Torres
Billy McKinney
Rashad Crawford

That is a pretty incredible."

Disappointing deadline so far. Hopefully the best is yet to come. Nobody's even cried yet (although, if you count the Sale incident as deadline-related, which it sort of is, that helps a little).

A lot of writers are saying it's not going to be much of a deadline. Not a ton out there that people are really willing to give up. Also, I saw an article somewhere that pointed out that this will be one of the worst free agent markets in recent history, and when that happens there is usually less big activity at the trade deadline because there are fewer "rent a player" situations.

Now, if that post doesn't cause a bunch of big trades, nothing will. :)

I bet the Twins are willing to sacrifice Joe Mauer. Perhaps they could get some paper cups and a Single-A outfielder in return - he could start!

New Cubs closer Aroldis Chapman pitched a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts (Jose Abreu and Avisail Garcia) in the Cubs 8-1 victory over the White Sox.

Chapman had 12 pitches that were 100 MPH or faster with his fastest pitch at 103.

Jason Hammel joked with reporters after the game, "I'm not impressed. I thought we were getting a guy that throws 105."
