2016-2017 WCHA Season Thread

No i'm not nuts but I can see 4 teams in. 1. Msu mankato- at large bid. Assuming they win most of their remaining non con games and finish near the top
2. Bemidji- playing really well and has a few non con games coming up to get well. the und losses won't hurt them.
3- LSSU - could really make some noise, but haven't played anyone really tough yet, so pretty iffy
4. MTU- if goaltending gets fixed, could win the league

also, the rest of college hockey isn't dominated by a few teams like last year. BU isn't great, nor BC, nor Quinnipiac, so because of that there might be openings that weren't expected.

comments?

You're nuts. :D

I could see two getting in, at most. The non-conference record is too bad right now.

what is the waiver required for? Going below some required minimum? I would think an exception could be made for a pair of schools so far from most of the rest.

If you make an exception for them, you have to make it for all. Unless you make a new Alaska/Hawai'i rule. I hope UAA & UAF find a way to make it work.

Re: 2016-2017 WCHA Season Thread

I wasn't sure if I liked all the penalties at the start of the season, but I do like the results. Is it just me or does it seem the game has opened up and the players have adjusted.

Re: 2016-2017 WCHA Season Thread

I was going to say, what happened?

Jordan Uhelski was 31/32 after two, and the one that went in rang in —*he had the angle and the placement but the guy just snuck it in there.

I've blacked out a lot of it, but I think that #2 was just a really good goal while #3 was a bad D-zone turnover. After that, it snowballed. I think that some of it was just bus legs.

Congrats to BG. much needed by everyone else.

BG actually should have swept Miami. Outplayed them both nights could have won 7 or 8 to 1 tonight. BG just could not get a bounce to go their way last and Miami got the OT PP.

They finally played 6 solid periods of hockey... the way we figured they would.....now can they do it 2 weeks in a row is the question.

Anyone know if Walt Kyle is on the hot seat at NMU?

I hope not. We're just getting started with Walt - payback's a b*tch. :)

In all seriousness, I think you're forgetting that their best player, Dominik Shine, appeared in his first 2 games of the year this weekend. Once he gets his feet back under him, they'll get better.

What was the deal with Shine? Injury? Suspension for breaking team rules?
