2016-2017 Division 1 Polls

Re: 2016-2017 Division 1 Polls

God THANK YOU, I've been saying this since week 1. I thought i was the only one.
Although North Dakota was "No. 11" (the first team just outside the Top 10 in terms of votes) in this weeks' USCHO and SB Nation polls.

I remain mystified as to how North Dakota is getting any votes. The ballot would have to go down to 17 or 18 before I'd find room for them.

But honestly you take 5 spots away from them just because they wear green :)

I don't see them at 10 either though. OSU has performed well against tougher competition and for now should rank above UND. Too early yet.

OSU looks really good if you ignore they have been badly outshot by every opponent this year (320 to 141) and score less than 2 goals per game.

shots and goals don't matter, it's all about the culture ;)
apparently even W-L does't matter, OSU is in 7th place in the WCHA
even more  than the love for UND, is the love for OSU in the polls

I have to admit, a year ago I would rate a team that has lost to Bemidji higher than a team that tied OSU
give me a few weeks, I still might

Goalies matter. No, let me restate that....Goalies matter a lot! I have seen Sauve in two games only, but she was incredible. The problem with being so dependent on one player is that if that one player starts having a few average games you are in trouble. So, yes, Ohio State is probably overrated right now, but if Sauve is more than a flash in the pan who knows how far she can take the Buckeyes.

I'll say this, she's killing it for my fantasy hockey team

> Princeton slips from No. 9 to 10
> Bemidji State drops from No. 10 to ARV
> Northeastern, Cornell, OSU no longer ARV

Re: 2016-2017 Division 1 Polls

if you say so:rolleyes:

Bemidji, which lost twice to UND is ranked above them
UMD, which lost twice to Mn, is ranked above them

As I said IMHO. It is close to the other "top ten" polls, but I was really referring to the entire ranking.
