there's a good buck in that racket.
I'm allowed to whine because I'm not playing or winning these games.
Fair enough

Have you seen either one of those teams play? The US would have no problem beating either team. They'll have trouble when they meet Canada again because Canada is deeper and much more physical, but I'm not worried about the Russians or the Czechs. To be honest, they'd be lucky to get past either one.
Mine was too.Actually, my comment was directed to the broader picture, including the Olympics.
It's the way they played. Too cute, too scared.Wha? I don't see it that way. Because we lost to canada?

Okay, I'm writing this in the aftermath of a defeat, but it seems like the US is always playing uphill against these guys; like they're playing their older brothers.
Still waiting for Eichel to have that "dominant" game that he is capable of.
Eichel seems like he's trying to do much. Reminds me of a quote from the character Herb Brooks in the Disney film Miracle yelling at the character Mark Johnson: "That coast-to-coast stuff may work here, but it's not going to work against the teams we're playing."

I'm scared to death of Russia.
People seem to have short memories when it comes to the Russian WJC teams.
Remember Buffalo? Russia slept walked through the preliminary round, and then rode an improbable comeback against Sweden and an amazing comeback against canada to win gold.
Or, how about last year? USA looks strong through the first round only to get bounced by Russia in the quarterfinals.
This is modus operandi for Russia in the WJC. They were the last team I wanted the USA to play tomorrow.
Domi set the tone from the outset, you could tell he was just nastier and meaner than the the US team. Canadian Juniors are a tough bunch and I think some of our college boys might be slightly scared of the Canadian edge. Even though alot of our guys were in American junior and some Canadian Junior leagues, they seem a little soft compared to the Canucks. Lets hope they rely on talent against the Russians, I can see them coming out and gooning it up to try and get the US off of their game again.
