2015-2016 USCHO Posters Poll

Re: 2015-2016 USCHO Posters Poll

Well to be fair 2 WCHA wins and HEA loses were the St Cloud-Mack series. And While Mack apparently held leads late they are a glorified club team. And 2 more were Wisco-Providence which TTT views as a slightly more glorified club team.

Hockey East seems to have a bunch of those.

Re: 2015-2016 USCHO Posters Poll

Haven't been on here in a while. Glad to see everyone's ability to understand and take a joke remains intact. Go WCHA!

Re: 2015-2016 USCHO Posters Poll

 Other than taking Katie Crowly's word for it, please explain how you can possibly justify this statement.
You guys... are you serious right now?

You all know my opinion about Hockey East. On what plane of existence could my comment not be taken completely as a lighthearted joke poking fun at my own conference?

Re: 2015-2016 USCHO Posters Poll

The Wisconsin/Providence series wasn't at all close. Digging into the box scores a bit, the Bemidji, North Dakota, and Clarkson sweeps look fairly lopsided. Colgate outscored Robert Morris 11-3, though that's a bit of lopsidedness that could speak for parity rather than against.
I mean I did say "almost" every game.

UW vs. PC would appear to be one of the obvious ones that didn't fit into that particular subset.

See, that's the thing. It's the intertubes, so nobody really knows. Were you serious when you said HEA was greaterest? Was D2D serious when he said, "What you talking about Willis?" Are you being serious when you ask if everyone is being serious? Am I being serious as I type this? Am I even typing it, or has Siri taken over my desktop keyboard as well as my phone? All I really know is that BC opened up some serious Whoop***** on UMD ... seriously.

No matter how you view them they are still in the conference.

Right. And he views them as being very bad. Which I think is his opinion on, like, 7 of the 9 teams in the league. Maybe 6. Do y'all read the commentary here or just wait to freak out over a sarcastic throwaway line? It becomes difficult to tell sometimes.

Now we're getting existential... :D

Does Siri proceed from existence to essence? Does she, in fact, exist at all? Can Siri even truly be described as "female," or is that simply an artifact of English having a borderline useless gender neutral third person singular pronoun?

Re: 2015-2016 USCHO Posters Poll

Alrighty here goes:

1) Minnesota -- Surprisingly close game against PSU and then one that wasn't close.
2) Boston College -- Two games against UMD that could either have been great or meh.

3) Clarkson -- Gonna be great this year
4) Harvard -- Starts playing in, what, four months or something
5) Wisconsin -- Top 5 all hold steady from my first ranking. Still shaking my head at Wisconsin willingly playing Providence. Great job guys.

And everyone else was less than impressive:

6) Bemidji State -- Vermont shouldn't be good this year... how did BSU they only win by 1?? Hockey East clearly the best conference IMO based entirely on this weekend series.
7) BU -- Managed to sneak by Chuli, but only barely.
8) NU -- Dropped them from #7 because of the SLU tie last weekend vs. BU's and BSU's sweeps this weekend.
9) North Dakota -- Cool series against RPI bro
10) Quinnipiac -- Just barely better than Mercyhurst this weekend, so they get the spot.

Honorable mention: Mercyhurst, and Penn State who despite getting swept by UM I have high hopes for.

When you read this, TTT putting the word "clearly" in his statement should have set off the sarcasm alarm as well as the "based entirely" ending.

Well played, TTT...

New thread: USCHO Existentialism

Does any of this matter? Do WE matter? What MATTERS? Is it all a social construct?

I think we can all agree that there are few things in this world that truly matter, but "trophies" is one of those things.

You mean those things BU has more of than BC? And no, I don't count all those make-believe tourneys or trophies for finishing at the bottom of a four-team field.

Yeah it's an empty shell of a life on our end of Comm Ave these days

All these questions, which refer us to a pure and not an accessory (or impure) reflection, can find their reply only from the number of trophies.

Well played, TTT...

My perception of TTT is that he has an extreme eastern bias, therefore the sarcasm is very hard to catch on the radar the one time he's possibly ripping eastern hockey....but yet, when looking at his pole, he has UW 5 and 3 eastern teams ahead of them, is that pole sarcasm too? I can't wait to see how the eastern powers handle the Friarettes.
