2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Reviewing Collegehockeystats.com there seems to be a fair number teams this weekend with less than 4 lines and/ or 3 sets of D. Was this year more injury prone than years past?

What is with her this year? Very inconsistent play, lots of cold mixed in with an occasional hot.

Always found her to be a streaky player way back to younger club hockey. This year Harvard has been mixing line pretty much every game due to injuries which I'm sure hasn't helped. I was shocked to see how thin their bench was yesterday.

Some interesting results today...

Colgate 3, Harvard 2, OT - The Raiders got 40 saves from goaltender Ashlynne Rando, two goals from Megan Sullivan in regulation -- the second coming in the third period to force overtime, and the game-winning goal from Shae Labbe at the 14:45 mark of the extra session. Harvard got goals from Lexie Laing & Grace Zarzecki, and 35 saves from Emerance Maschmeyer.

St. Lawrence 4, Princeton 3, OT - The Saints became the second #6-seed this year (joining MN-Duluth) to advance to their conference's championship weekend. Brooke Webster scored twice and added an assist for St. Lawrence, and Justine Reyes lit the lamp at 5:37 of overtime. Princeton's Molly Contini also had two goals, including the extra-attacker tally with 15 seconds left in regulation to force OT.

Boston University 6, Vermont 1 - The Terriers advanced behind six goals in the first two periods, with 2 from Rebecca Leslie. BU goaltender Erin O'Neil made 32 saves for the win. Mackenzie MacNeil scored for Vermont.

Robert Morris 5, Lindenwood 1 - Ashley Vesci recorded two goals and two assists for the Colonials, and goaltender Lauren Bailey made 34 saves. Shara Jasper scored the lone goal for the Lions.

According to play-by-play announcer, Daniels didn't play 3rd period or OT.

She didn't play most of the game. Was hurt in the first period. That combined with not having Abby Frazier, Haley Mullins, Dani K and Mary Parker left us shorthanded for this series. Somewhat of a miracle that we extended to OT in game three today.

I wasn't. We didn't have the depth we had last year. We were missing five players today; Daniels, Frazier, Parker, Mullins and Dani K. It's hard to lose that many players when your team graduated seven seniors and has not had their best player for a majority of the season. Maschmeyer did her best but it wasn't enough.

Emily Janiga's power-play goal has Mercyhurst up 1-0 on Robert Morris after 20 minutes.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Amanda Pantaleo tied it for RMU, but within 2 minutes, Brooke Hartwick had the Lakers back on top with another PP goal. 2-1 Mercyhurst after 2 periods.

Looks like Mercyhurst advances to the final with a 4-2 win. Jenna Dingeldein scored her team's third power-play goal to increase the lead to two. The Colonials' PP finally struck back on an Ashley Vesci goal, but Hannah Bale finished the scoring into an empty net with 10 seconds left.

You watching the game?

Fun game so far. Penn State with a little more offensive pressure than I expected. Thankfully the yearly subscription covers these games...I think I would have passed at $10.99/ea

Penn State comes out roaring in the third period, scoring 2 goals and outshooting Syracuse 8-1.

Now 2-2 early in the third.

I'd have purchased the second game had I known that I'd be getting my money's worth.

3rd OT. Mercyhurst is loving this.
