2015-2016 Coaching Changes

Re: 2015-2016 Coaching Changes

People applied - when they found out it was paying about $17,000 they all bolted. By all, I mean around 3 applicants.

Ouch, and I thought I was being a little harsh. You definitely beat me on that account! Obviously $17,000 is a good joke but I do wonder what the pay rate is. I don't think anyone in their right mind would stay as long as the original coach did if the pay was anywhere near that amount. That's assistant coach money at best.

Just visited the UW Eau Claire website and saw they hired their men's assistant hockey coach as their new women's hockey coach. I guess nobody applied that had previous experience coaching women's hockey. ;) Looks like another hire of convenience. I don't remember seeing an announcement about this. Was there one? I can't even find an announcement on their website either.

He has done a great job with the men's team and I would expect nothing less as the women's coach. This is a good hire.

Re: 2015-2016 Coaching Changes

"TBA" is listed as coach on Finlandia's website. I did not see any official press releases from the school. Seems like a heck of a time to let a coach go right at the start of the season. It looks like Coach Syrowik brought some new players in as well. Anyone know what's going on at FU?

Re: 2015-2016 Coaching Changes

I don't think anyone is ever "let go" at Finlandia, but seek life/work elsewhere after a few years in Hancock...
