2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

Pretty much assumed that Byslma is done in da Burgh, but let me throw this out there. There's the typical post-collapse chatter about trading Malkin, Fleury and others, but what are the odds that Shero REALLY shakes things up by dealing Sid?

As long as he doesn't trade him to MN, I don't care what he does with Sid.

He's a changed man. It's the playoffs, what do you expect when you wave it under his nose like that. He's only human.

Hopefully, if he's up for discipline they take into account that he went two games without incident. I mean, how far back are you gonna hold things against someone? He was clearly trying to change over those past two games.

Just glad we got through without that meatball maiming someone.

Okay, it's been almost 12 hours. It was a bad bounce. Bryz didn't do himself any favors in his positioning, but it was a bad bounce and it would've been a miracle if he stopped Kane from scoring.

I think it's likely that a new GM will be the one to make these decisions. A friend of mine from Pitt told me (a while back, well before the playoffs) that Lemieux wanted Byslma gone after last season but that Shero advocated for Byslma and persuaded Lemieux to keep him. I would not be surprised if that decision has cost Shero his job. Of course Bylsma has to go.

Best player in the world folks. Clutch performance!
Not the best player on his line, if you ask me. Malkin was the one who terrified me all series.

But, really... OMG LUNDQVIST. With apologies to Kings fans, anyone who claims they'd take any other goalie over Hank (unless you're building on a five-year plan and taking age into account) is lying.

There's a rather large fanbase in Quebec that doesn't appreciate being called liars by you.

It'll never happen. You trade Sid and you spend the next 50 years trying to find another one. Besides, what package could any team throw together that would actually be a "good return" for him?

No snark here at all, but when something like that happens, I rarely blame the goalie when my team fails to get more than a goal or two. At some point the Wild need to finish on some of the prime opportunities that they had.

If that happens, you never get to that point where the bad bounce kills you.

Now had Bryz given up 5 or 6 and you lose by 1, then it's probably on the goalie.

Maybe I just have a different perspective, but I usually can find a breakdown (or three) before the shot that had it not happened would have prevented the goal. It's a team effort.

And did you see his interview with Pierre? He's the s hit on AND off the ice.

A couple of guys on GPL (can't remember who) were advocating using the compliance buyout on Koivu.

I agree with that.

The Wild had a great chance, but they really made their bed with the PP (more like Power Outage). Bad bounces happen, and they could have made them obsolete if they popped one in 5 on 4.

Tavares plus another couple of players?

Easily, the lowlight of the game for me was to see the Wild on PP, absolutely controlling the puck, and yet never pushing their advantage and wasting away their opportunities with dull passing at the point that never threatened to do anything meaningful.

Agreed. Could not believe they never changed up their PP pattern when it was clear it wasn't working.

The trick to fixing a power play that isn't working is to play against Marc-Andre Fleury.
