2014 NCAA Quarterfinal Boston University @ Minnesota

Re: 2014 NCAA Quarterfinal Boston University @ Minnesota

I would expect the Gophers to carry the play but as earlier posters have mentioned, BU just finds away to hang around. At times Sperry has been an absolute wall and she'll make 5-6 saves and then they come down and find a way to score. If they are in the game in the 3rd it could get interesting.

Here's what I am a little worried about.

Monday: BU at practice. Gophers at the White House.

Advantage and I think fairly huge advantage to BU.

Good thing BU doesn't have a travel day this week........besides game is on Saturday, so extra day.

apparently you have never heard:

all work and no play ...

ever hear of stress release?

my only complaint is they didn't cross check that lying .....

Re: 2014 NCAA Quarterfinal Boston University @ Minnesota

Power plays have been a big part of both BU (5 of 11) and MN (7 of 13) playoff wins, limiting these opportunities will be a key to the game. See a 4-2 game with MN outscoring BU 2-1 even strength and 2-1 on special teams.

For those attending the game, any insight into parking etc. around Ridder with HS Basketball tourney on? Thx

The HS BB tourney shouldn't have a ton of impact. All of the finals are at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis, and if there are third-place games at Williams Arena, I can't imagine they draw that big crowds. There will be plenty of over-priced parking in surface lots and ramps around Ridder for either $8 or $10 depending on what they decide to charge on a given day.

Re: 2014 NCAA Quarterfinal Boston University @ Minnesota

I assume Warren and Lefort play on the same line. Are the Gophers going to generally put Terry, Cameranesi, Brausen against them?

Yeah and on the north side don't be fooled by the sign at the entrance that says it's $4. They leave that there just to lure you in.

Pay whatever it costs to park anywhere but at a meter. They don't let you out of the building once you enter and the meter vultures hover waiting to dole out $42 tickets.

Every time I've seen BU since Tutino got hurt, Warren has centered a line with Lefort on her wing. I'm sure Terry's line will be the first choice to go against them, with the Davis line as second choice. Not that Frost wouldn't trust Brandt out against them, but it frees her line up offensively a bit more.

I agree, though to me it has less to do with freeing up offense than because I think the Brandt line features the Gophers' two weakest defensive wings. ("Weakest" in this context being used very much as a relative term; Lorence and Menefee are fine defensively but they aren't Bona or Schipper or Cameranesi or Brausen.)

Weakest meaning to a large extent "slowest." I agree with you, but I don't think it is a severe enough of a problem that it will call for an immediate change any time that Brandt is out there and the Warren line comes over the boards. I would think that an attempt will also be made to keep one of the top two D pairs out there against Warren & Lefort.
