2014 NCAA Frozen Four: Minnesota vs. Wisconsin in Border Battle Semifinal

Re: 2014 NCAA Frozen Four: Minnesota vs. Wisconsin in Border Battle Semifinal

What a great game. I wish the Fill the Bowl game would have been that kind of battle, would have made a lot more Womens Hockey Fans out of some of the 13,000 who were there.

There's no getting around just how incredible this Gopher team is. When they put their foot down, there really isn't anyone who can stop them.

But a helluva effort by the Badgers today. I didn't really think they had much of a chance, mostly because I didn't think they'd be able to get enough pucks in the net to overcome the Minnesota offense. I figured if they were going to make a game out of it, it would need to be a very low scoring game, where Rigsby was just about perfect. The Badgers scoring 3 goals is usually a very good thing, but even starting the 3rd period, I still expected the Gophers to come back and get the win.

Now lets just make sure the trophy stays out West on Sunday.

I guess I had heard incorrectly then. Momma mia :) .
They do have a cousin who plays at UMD and would have been a senior but was injured early in the season and redshirted -- Brienna.

I disliked AJ during the Olympics, but not this badly. It's like they don't even have a roster sheet in front of them. Never called Berg's name on the first penalty. Rarely calling names on shots. Useless.

Past time for her to retire. Don't understand why anyone still hires her with so many younger, more insightful and more engaging choices around.

I have never, ever...neither gender, no geography, no age...ever seen a team that can come from behind like this gopher team.

Women's hockey.....Team Canada @ Sochi..... most people remember it well

I thought the exact thing going into the 3rd period. Of the five games they played each other, the least entertaining was at Fill the Bowl. Even with a loss, Kohl would have been rocking for most of the game if it was like today.

Re: 2014 NCAA Frozen Four: Minnesota vs. Wisconsin in Border Battle Semifinal

Like the start of the second, the Badgers were on their heels early in the 3rd mainly because of the aggressive play by the Gophers. Then it seemed like they tired as the period progressed. I would say it was a good game by Wisconsin, not great. They represented themselves well, but a Frozen Four loss to the Gophers (no matter how good they are) is still a painful loss.

The one thing A.J. got right was her observation on the momentum shifts, which were very obvious and which also made it a great game to watch (but very nerve-racking if you were a partisan fan, like me!).

Also, if we have to live with the same announcer on Sunday, do you suppose someone could give her a pronunciation guide to help her with the Gophers' last names? In particular, she needs to practice on how to pronounce Brausen, Gillanders and Cameranesi.

I enjoyed the webcast. Good picture quality, wish the camera person were more experienced with hockey.

Excellent game by the Badgers. Gophers seemed surprised by the speed and aggressiveness of the Badgers at times. But as others have mentioned, the Gophers were able to turn it up when needed and the Badgers did seem to tire.

I may just go with Dan's audio and live with the timing mismatch, because it was distracting to hear all the butchering going on. She never came close to getting Jaminski right either, and that shouldn't be that hard.

Again, while I don't think AJ did a great job as color analyst, the play-by-play person was dreadful. Mispronounced names, dead air during play, etc. Sounded like a complete novice. NCAA has had months to fill these spots and this was the best they can do?

Kali and Baylee's older brother also played D-1 at Colgate... So just a ton of hockey talent in that Gene Pool

Re: 2014 NCAA Frozen Four: Minnesota vs. Wisconsin in Border Battle Semifinal

I think it was a reference to having done it a number of times. Not once.
My thoughts exactly. Canada wasn't behind often enough to detect any pattern. Minnesota has come from behind in three of their last four.

I know you'd like a fast start brooky, but I think a big key for this team is that they can keep skating after other teams are slowing down.

...and here I found that game quite entertaining. :)

Stellar...incredible...remarkable career for Rigsby. I don't know if it'll get any easier. I doubt it...but I won't miss her much. ;)

Could have made a drinking game out of it. I think Jasminski was the closest she got. Confused Burke/Nurse a couple times with one being #6 and the other #16. Just a mess...

I was going to say they've had plenty of practice...coming from behind. ;)

oh....so the "never, ever" was just to be dramatic...got it
Again...believe the reference was never ever with such regularity. Too much regularity for my taste.

Hope that helps.
