2014 Frozen Four Info Thread

If you thought that was great pizza you are terribly misinformed and have no clue what good pizza is . Just sayin. It was big, I'll give it that much and for arena pizza it was just decent for the price .

Re: 2014 Frozen Four Info Thread

Whatever. I thought it was delicious. No need to tell me I have bad taste. And now I'm not going anyways so I'm not going to get to eat it.

Stop at Wooster St in New Haven, Sally's or Pepe's. Then you will have tasted truly great apizza. You don't have bad taste, you are just uninformed, and there has got to be better stuff than arena pizza in the greater Boston area.

I'm sorry , I didn't mean to demean you. If they shrunk the diameter by 6" and COOKED IT, it had a shot . ;-) . And to the poster below yours , I was on Wooster street yesterday and polished off more than half a large one with salami at Pepe's. As painful as Thursday was we did eat cheese steak at Pat's before the dreaded game and apizza at Pepe's on the way home .

That pizza scarlet was talking about smelled great

And Pepe's is outstanding, but different. Took guys there last August after taking them to play Yale Gc. Outstanding pizza they have for "new haven style", yes

Got a question for folks who went to the games Thursday. When we went in, we got a free goody of some sort. But I have no idea what it is. It's made out of stretchy cloth, joined along an edge. Pardon my stupidity, but can anyone tell me what it's supposed to be?

It's a BUFF. I had to google it to find out what to do with it. You can wear it a number of ways. Scarf, headband, cap. Google BUFF. There's even a YouTube video showing different ways to wear it

Great alternative to sunscreen when fishing from a boat. I wouldn't wear it into a bank though.

Back in the day I think that that used to be called a Do Rag...

I remember when the kaffeyah (a sign of PLO solidarity) became a "peace scarf"... suburban mothers are weird. Viva la revolucion, don'tcha know.

Thanks! Now I feel many years younger, and soooo much hipper.:)

Re: 2014 Frozen Four Info Thread

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who posted info in this thread! It made my trip a lot of fun!

First of all Reading Terminal Market was AMAZING! DiNiC's was worth the hype and the fresh doughnut shop there was unbelievable!

Chickie's and Pete's was good. The fries were delicious but I can understand why they might not be for everyone.

Liberty Bell and Independence Hall were cool to see.

The arena wasn't anything crazy to see but it was just ok. The open skate was pretty cool! Props to the Frozen Four/Wells Fargo Center for setting that up!

Xfinity Live complex, while expensive for drinking and eating, was so convenient!

Independence Pass for public transportation was legit. $12/day for any public transportation: regional trains, local trains, trolleys and buses. It covered them all. Staying out by the airport, we definitely got our moneys worth on the passes.

Re: 2014 Frozen Four Info Thread

Hope everyone had a great time in Philly (and NYC for those who came up here). My group certainly did! Hooray beer.

Re: 2014 Frozen Four Info Thread

I hope everyone enjoyed the Philly, those that I spoke to personally did but possibly some were simply being polite. I'm well in to the third period and would like to see the FF back here before the final buzzer.

What I enjoyed most was the very entertaining games(all three)and talking with college hockey fans. What a great group of people! And to skate at the Wells Fargo Center with my seven year-old grandson(a promising mite!) was priceless.

Our daughter has recently purchased a house on the North Shore so we'll have a cheap room for Boston next year and I hope to see many of you there.

We'd be happy to join you at your daughter's house! Thanks for the invite, you sure it's OK with her?

Our group had a great time. I actually had people tell me before I left that Philly was dangerous, that there was nothing to do, that the city was a dump. Wrong on all counts! Did some touring on foot and on one of those double decker buses, had a couple of great meals including one in the South Philly Italian Market area. However, I have to admit that upon entering the Wells Fargo Center and seeing all thoe banners, my hatred for th Flyers came boiling up to the surface. Someone should tell them that, if you want to be big league, hang just the Stanley Cup banners, not all that bogus Eastern Division, Western Division stuff. The Bruins used to do that in the old Garden and finally came to their senses. The Flyers should do the same.

Re: 2014 Frozen Four Info Thread

The ridiculously large slice of Lorenzo & Sons pizza I had at the Wells Fargo Center was quite possibly the best pizza I've ever had, especially in an arena. And the chocolate ice cream? Awesome.

Sorry guys... I'm with Scarlet here. That pizza at the arena was DELICIOUS! I was also at Pepe's on Friday, watching sterlippo gorge himself on salami pie. I've been to Pepe's twice now. It's OK, not great in my book. My favorite... Regina's, in the North End, Boston, MA. We've got some very good Italian and Greek pizza shops down on the South Shore, MA as well.

Scarlet... that chocolate ice cream was good!

Greek pizza is akin to an Italian Gyro, blech. you have to get the white clam pie at Pepe's,

Well why didn't ya say so... before we went! ;)
To each his own on the pizza tastes. But, I have no idea how sterlippo can even taste his pizza. The cheese is still bubbling (boiling) hot while he's stuffing masses of the molten lava into his mouth. My mouth hurts just watching him. ;) :)
