Three updates...

-- GWH pre-series game notes on GopherSports.com

-- Minnesota Daily - Stecklein gives Gophers stability

-- The Euro Hockey Tour four-team round-robin women's hockey tournament runs today through Saturday in Finland. The big news is that Noora Räty will be playing for Finland in today's game against Russia. However, due to scheduling, today's game will be the only one of Finland's three contests in which Noora will be participating. Game time is 6:30 p.m. in Finland, 11:30 a.m. EST, 10:30 a.m. CST. (The tournament also features the national teams from Sweden and Germany.)

Really too bad, especially with the way she was injured. Hopefully she'll miss just this one weekend.

Good news on Lorence though. The second line looks to be back intact.

My Brooky Bold Prediction of the week is that Shelby Amsley-Benzie will either earn the WCHA Goaltender of the year and WCHA MVP of 2015

...or she won't

This may qualify as a bold prediction.

This one? Nah. Hedging is for boneheads.

Looks like Saturday's game is being shown on Fox College Sports Central.

Re: 2014-2015 Minnesota Women's Hockey: The Maroon & Gold Strike Back!

Tomorrow is Pack the Ralph night in Grand Forks. Last year they did 5835 for Pack the Ralph, a record for UND Women's Hockey. I thought the Gophers looked a little nervous at the start of the game last year……….although it turned out all right :)

Go Gophers!

Thanks, it shows up on my guide and the DVR is set!

Crud, thats not on our cable package.
Mine either. Three years ago I added it because both UND games were on, and then dropped it afterward, but this time I'll just subscribe to the online feed.

My cable co has this channel! Yahoo! They don't support ESPN 3 though, so I can't watch the Women's Beanpot from home (and avoid the late night 2 hour drive afterwards:( )

At this stage of the season, besides the obvious objectives I think you want to establish a precedent for the WCHA tournament and potential rematches.

Hope the ice packs and any other therapy have been effective. Go Gophers! Try to keep #4 in front of you!

Re: 2014-2015 Minnesota Women's Hockey: The Maroon & Gold Strike Back!

With Comcast / Xfinity I get the Fox Sports channel in question...that broadcasts the occasional NoDak women's hockey game as part of a sports channel package that includes NHL games up the wazoo. I don't watch those much but, in the past when I did not subscribe to the sports package Comcast / Xfinity allowed me to subscribe on a pro-rated basis just to catch the rare Gopher @ UND game that was being televised. I could cancel a day or two later and be billed just a couple bucks. Can't say that's still possible but you might want to call them...or your provider and ask.

I can now add and cancel those types of services via automated phone system. I'd still want to speak with a live rep to ask about the pro-rated possibility.
